On this cards today I am using the Hero Arts Winter Forest Digital Kit DK021 for the background. I open the file on my Silhouette Studio software. But you can use any program that can open a pdf file, including Microsoft Word will work. Then I resize to fit on A2 size card. I got 4 bakcgrounds on 8.2 x 11 White Cardstock, on time printing.

Then I did the same thing with the sentiment from Hero Arts Merry & Bright Flourish Tag Digital Kit DK022 and I cut out into banners.

I also use the Peace Stamp & Cuts set for a quick sentiments on the other cards. I simply cut them out with white cardstock and dabbed the red ink all over them to give some rustic look.

I finished these cards with some glitter glue and stickles for extra shine on them.

I would love to share some “love” projects with you in this month. First project is a digital layout of me and my very handsome hubby. We have tons of wedding pictures. Our plan is to make some digital albums. When I was going through them, I found this one cute picture taken by one of our friends at church, right after the ceremony. At the first day we as Mr. & Mrs.

This month theme challenge is Create / Creation. The inspiration is from Isaiah 45:18

“For this is what the LORD says — He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.”

You may apply this theme in any way you can imagine, create anything you want to, a layout, card, journal page, off the page project, anything. The verse I used for the journaling. Our friends were on the way to their new home and passed Ohio. They stayed overnight and we had so much fun. The next day, they gave us these Tiger Lily flower. One had bloomed, one was not yet. My oldest was so excited to see the process of the flower blooming. This remind me of the verse clearly saying the The LORD is the creator, the only one who made the earth, formed it to be inhabited. He created the flowers!

More exciting today… I am joining an amazing craft blog hop today! It is The Silhouette Challenge – Handmade Gift Exchange on the Silhouette Challenge Facebook Group. If you would like to join us, please go to Lauren’s blog to find out the details.

The rules is simple: use Silhouette die cutting machine to make a gift for the assigned exchanged friend. I made this stenciled canvas bag for my friend, Debby.

Supplies you’ll to make this tote bag are:

• Plain canvas bag (get at any craft store)
• Fabric markers or paints
• Freezer paper
• Iron
• Silhouette die cut machine
• Cutting mat, spatula, tweezer
• Shapes from Silhouette online store. For this my bag, I picked Poppy head and stem from Donna Downey.

First, open the shape on Silhouette Studio software. I resized the phrase to 8 in tall for the tote bag. Then I mirrored the writing to the right. Then I cut 12×12 freezer paper and put it on the cutting mat shine side up. Then cut. Use the spatula to pick the cut shapes off the cutting mat.

I added the stems first on the bag. Set the iron on low (no steam!) and lightly run the iron on the freezer paper (shine side down) on the canvas bag until it sticked on the bag.

I found a pack of 24 fabric markers at Walmart because I cannot find fabric paint there. I always wish that we live right next to Hobby Lobby…hahahaha….

Using the green marker, I drew the stems on the bag. I layered it couple times to get bolder result. This marker dries right away after you draw on any fabric so that you can peel off the freezer paper right after the drawing. This is perfect for quick project.

After peeling off the stem freezer papers off the canvas bag, I added the poppy shape using the iron again. And using the red maker I filled in all the cut shapes of the flower. I did twice to get darker red.

When I was done with the red, I peel off the freezer papers and then colored the middle of the flower with black marker.

Ta-da! It is done! I love how result! Very lovely poppy flowers. I am planning to make one more for me and add my favorite Bible verse on the bag too
