Coffee Vibe Mixed Media Tag Tutorial

Hello hello hello crafty friends… We have arrived at the end of May! Ready or not, June is coming! Here’s some coffee vibes for you…

Today is my turn to share a mixed media tutorial at STAMPlorations Blog. Over their blog, you can read full tutorial with pictures.

Couple of months ago, a sweet crafty friend sent me a happy box filled with various shaped acrylic, and this acrylic cup is one of them. I had so much fun creating this mixed media tag and exploring the possibilities what mediums to use on these Clear Scraps Acrylics. This time, I use Alcohol Inks and Alcohol Blending Solution on the acrylic.

On my project, I used the Helen G. Designs ARTplorations stencils (Make Marks 1 and Make Marks 5), Stitched Tags Nesting Dies, and Just Caffeinate STAMPlorations Clear Stickers.

For the tag, I use DCVW corrugated cardstock. And for the other mixed media mediums, I use Deco Foil Metallix Gel, White Gesso, and Gelato.

Other items such as enamel flowers, fabric flowers, gems, and twines are from my mixed media stash.

For adhesive, I used Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive and GlueDots. They work well to keep everything in place. I am pretty happy with the results.

I hope you all will enjoy the tutorial at STAMPlorations Blog today. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a fabulous day!

May CUTplorations Challenge | Spring Heartfelt Thanks Card

Hello everyone… I am enjoying some of the Spring colors around me and songs sang my birds at our backyard.

I have another Spring card to share with you all…

On my card today, I use For The Birds DiesTrendy Spring Blooms DiesCrazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies,  Heartfelt Thanks StampMake Marks 2 ARTplorations Stencil.

Here’s what inspire me to create this card: the bird, colors, and layers.

I use stencil to create the background with the Make Marks 2 ARTplorations stencil and added the inks with blending brush on the mixed media paper. After that, I cut it with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. I added the background panel on a white card base with adhesive glue.

I got a negative cut that I saved from last project that I cut a white cardstock with the leaf die from the Trendy Spring Blooms Dies. I added it in the middle of the card with adhesive glue.

For the bird, I added some watercolor paint on a watercolor paper, sprayed with water, and created a watercolored washed. I dried the panel with craft heater and then I cut it with the bird die from For The Birds Dies.

The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set that I stamped it on a white cardstock with yellow and orange ink pad to create the ombre look on it. I trimmed it into sentiment banner.

I stacked the bird and sentiment banner together with adhesive glue, and I added them on the card with 3D foam adhesive for extra dimension.

I embellished the card with some sequins from my stash.

I hope you like this card today and give you an inspiration to join our May CUTplorations Challenge. And… Before you all go and create projects to play along, check out these TWO Spring Sales at STAMPlorations Store and get 20% off extra by using my code: STAMPGIRLHELEN when you check out!!!

May Mixed Media Challenge | Spring Thank You Mixed Media Card

Hello everyone… On this first Sunday of the month, I have a Spring mixed media card to share with you all today.

On my mixed media card today, I use the Make Marks 1 ARTplorations StencilTrendy Spring Blooms Stamp SetTrendy Spring Blooms Dies, and Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die.

I had been having so much fun creating monoprinting with my new ARTplorations stencils! So… Here’s how I did the background.

I printed the background using the gelli printing technique with the Make Marks 1 ARTplorations, Gelli Art Printing Plate, and Heavybody Acrylic Paints. I used brayer to apply the paint in the plate and pulled the positive and negative prints on mixed media papers.

When the print dried, I cut it with the largest size of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies using my Gemini Junior machine. I added the background panel on a white card base with permanent adhesive.

I cut the burlap circle ring using burlap cardstock and 2 sizes of circle dies. I added on the card with permanent adhesive glue. I pressed it down in place with couple acrylic stamping blocks until the glue dried.

I cut out some leaves using green cardstocks and the leaf die from Trendy Spring Blooms Dies.

For the flowers, I stamped some of the printed flowers stamps from the Trendy Spring Blooms stamp set with VersaFine Clair inks on regular white copy paper, and fussy cut them with scissors.

I added some alcohol inks on a piece of glossy photo paper, blended them with blending solution, and before it completely dry, I added some of gold fool transfer sheet on it. After that I cut it with some of the flower dies from the Trendy Spring Bloom Dies. I added the printed flowers behind the die cut flowers with adhesive glue.

I arranged all the flowers and leaves on the burlap wreath circle with adhesive glue and some with 3D foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Trendy Sprung Bloom stamp set that I stamped with VersaFine Clair ink on white cardstock. I trimmed it into sentiment banner and added it on the card with 3D foam tape in the middle, and secure both ends with adhesive.
