Growing In Unity Day 2: More CAS Christmas Cards

Hello everyone… I am back again today as the Growing In Unity Girl. For the next 5 days, I will be sharing with you projects featuring stamps from the Unity Stamp Company. And if you have not yet seen my first project for the Growing in Unity Day 1, you can go here. For this Day 2, I have more CAS Christmas cards to share with you.

Today, I made 2 card sets with 1 design. They are easily mass-produced for Christmas cards. On this card I used this preview Kit Of The Month – October 2017:

Unity Stamp Company KOT October 2017

The first card set, I used the 3 snowflakes and one sentiment on my mixed media cards:

I created the background using heat-embossing resist technique with Color Burst Powder. If you do not have Color Burst Powder, you can also use watercolor paint for this technique. Since we are working with lots of water, I prefer using watercolor papers. Heavy weight 110 lbs cardstock can handle water, but not as good as watercolor papers.

First, I stamped all backgrounds with Versamark ink pad using Mini MISTI. Then, I added the mixture of White embossing powder and Hologram embossing powder on them and heat set them with craft heater. Snowflakes are white and sparkly!

Then I sprayed the panels with some water, sprinkled the Color Burst Turquoise Powder on each of them. And watched them spreading and covering the panel by tilting the paper in random directions… One very little sprinkle can do the magic! I used small round watercolor brush to help some of the color to spread.

I dried them with craft heater, and I added some sprinkle of white paint on each panel with fan brush. I love how each of them turn out different to each other. Just like snowflakes, none of them ever the same!

And then… I dried them again with craft heater and trimmed the paper into 4″ x 5.5″ for the background panels. I added them on the black cards with Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive runner.

For the sentiment, I cut out white cardstock into paper strips and stamped the sentiment on each of them with Memento Dew Drop Summer Sky. Then I cut them into banner shaped.

I found out that I run out of 3D foam tapes! But I have some white fun foam in stash so I used them as replacement for 3D foam tapes 🙂 I simply cut the fun foam into smaller sizes than the sentiment banners, added them on each back of the banner with strong liquid glue. Once they all dried, I added them on the cards.

My first card set is done.

And for the second card set, I simply stamped the image directly on the white cards with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I decided not to color them.

Then I stamped the sentiment on light purple cardstocks with the same ink pad, and trimmed them into banner shape.

With the same step on the first card set, I added the fun foam on the back of the sentiment banners and added them on each card with the same glue.

I finished these cards with some purple sequins for extra sparkle on them. Card set 2 is done.

I hope these cards today inspire you to create with Unity Stamp Company today! And I entered these cards for the UNITY {show & tell} Facebook Group – Holiday Card Challenge. This week theme is No Red No Green! How about that? Challenging right…creating Christmas cards with no red and no green on them 🙂

CUTplorations December Challenge: Mixed Media Happy Holidays Card

Hello everyone…First week of December… The holly jolly season has began! There will be more and more Christmas theme projects you will see on my blog 😀 And the project today, the first Monday of the month, I created a mixed media Happy Holidays card inspired by this CUTplorations December Challenge image.

CUTplorations December Challenge

I created the card background with Senecio 1 – ARTplorations Stencil, watercolor paper 140 lbs, Gelli Plate, and 2 shades of green arcylic paints. When I work with Gelli Plate, I always ended up with more than one prints that I can use for other projects.

After the gelli print dried well, I sprayed some light teal acrylic paint spray and dried it with craft heater. I run the panel through my diecutting machine with the largest die from Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. I added it on the card base with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

I die cut the Happy Word Die and Holiday Word Die out of Gold Metallic Cardstock. I added them on the card with liquid glue.

I stamped the stocking image from Warm Hands Warm Hearts Stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and colored it with color pencil. And then I cut it using the matching Warm Hands Warm Hearts Coordinating Dies. After that, I added some liquid glue on the top of the stocking and added some glitter on it. Set it aside to dry.

I added the stocking, snowflakes and silver sequins on the card. That’s all my card for you today 🙂 I hope it inspire you to create and share your project with us for this month’s challenge.

And here are my 2 projects using Sanna Lippert Designs Stencils:

First is the table top Christmas tree pot. I found a cute little Christmas tree at a craft store a while ago and it needed a pot 🙂 First, I painted the small clay pot with white acrylic paint. I painted twice, between 1 hour drying time.

After making sure the second layer dried well, I added the Senecio 1 Stencil on the pot and used mini puncher to added the green leaf acrylic paint. I painted the whole surface. You need to be very careful when moving the stencil to the next row, especially when the paint still wet. It would be better to paint the next row when the first one is dry or at least half-dry so there will be no smudge. To remove the wet paint smudge, I simply used wet wipe.

I also added some glitter hologram paint on the pot for extra bling to it. Once paint dry, which craft acrylic paint will dry in 1 hour, I added foam inside the pot for the tree to stand. I secured it with hot glue gun.

And then I wrapped the mini LED light around it and now it is sitting on my desk 🙂

My second project is an art journal using the Evolution Stencil. First, I created the background with Color Burst powder, sprayed some water and dabbed of some. After that I sprayed some white spray paint and green spray paint.

I added some homemade texture paste with the Evolution Stencil on the page and dried it with craft heater. And then I added some Gelatos on it with my finger. I used the Gelatos Original Set on my journal.

Inside and Out Beautiful Is What You Are Art Journal

Using Crisscrossed ARTplorations Stencil, I added some black paint on the corners using make up sponge. And dried it with craft heater. And then I added some gold glitter hologram acrylic paint with the Star Aligned ARTploratios Stencil

I added some old book paper strips in the middle of the page using mod podge, and added some Gelatos on them with my finger.

Once they dry, I added some medical fabric gauge and the green burlap on it with strong liquid glue.

I stamped the flower from Smile – Dee’s Arty Impressions stamp set on a watercolored paper scrap with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors, and added it on the page with strong liquid glue. For the sentiment, it is from Bold Sentiment – Beautiful stamp set, cut them into paper strips, and added them with same glue.

I finished the page with added some white gesso around the page with my finger and added the Vintage Photo Distress Ink on it once the gesso was dry.
