Watercolor Block Stamping: Be-Leaf In Yourself

Hello everyone… We are almost in the middle of August. Lots of Fall/Autumn theme stuff are out already. Can’t you believe that? So…let’s enjoy the rest of the Summer no matter what!

Today I have couple of Fall/Autumn themed cards that I created using a fun techniques called Watercolor Block Stamping and Inlaid Diecutting. I tried the stamping with block before and love the texture and effect on the results. But on these cards, I tried the technique from Jennifer McGuire that I watched on YouTube.

I added the Distress Inks directly on the stamping block and spray with some water. Then stamped it on a piece of watercolor paper.

On the video she also showed how to get extra splatter by tapping the block while the watercolor paint still wet. I did that and love the distressed/splatter look on the edges of the rectangle. I also added some splatters on the panel.

When the panel was dry, I run it through my die cutting machine to cut out the leaves using A Jillian Vance Designs – Grand Leaf Trio Die Set. And I also cut out the panels with Rectangles Die Set.

I stamped the sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design – Be Leaf In Yourself stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black and Mini MISTI.

To put the card together, I added them on the card with some adhesive runner. For the leaves, I used the inlaid diecutting technique using 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

Here’s another one I made with the same technique.

May these cards inspire you to jump into Fall/Autumn themed projects. And… I also sharing these cards at A Jillian Vance Designs blog today, hope you all can visit me there 🙂

Thank You so much for stopping by here today. Hope you all have a fabulous blessed day!

Thursday Coffee Break: Marble Coffee Mug CAS Cards

clc-coffee-break-logo-640x640

Hello everyone… I am so glad to be back here with you all! I hope you all have a blast and fun this Summer. Today I have a fun project to share with you when you take your Thursday Coffee Break at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog.

My cards today are simple with die-cuts and I left them open for any occasion events. I started with a fun technique called marbling with shaving foam and re-inkers. You can watch the shaving cream full tutorial and video at Splictcoaststampers.

On this card, I use the Coffee Cup Silhouette Die and Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies from STAMPlorations. And the re-inkers are from Taylored Expressions.

First, I added the shaving cream on a paper plate and then added the re-inker randomly on top of the cream. Using a stick, I mix the cream and re-inkers like when I baked marble cake 🙂

Next step, I added white cardstocks on top of the colored cream and gently I pushed it until the ink transferred to the cardstock. And using an old credit card, I scraped the shaving cream of the cardstock. And the marble is revealed under it. So cool!

As you can see, I got 2 different results. The first 3 on the top are from the first 3 times I dipped the cardstocks in. And the second 3 cards below are the ones I dipped in after I mixed all the colors. Check out the different look on each card:

I finished each card with some splatters of the Shimmer Spritz – Frost and Sparkle for extra shiny and sparkly on them.

With mixed media, I would say…you need to expect the unexpected results. You’ll be surprised with the result for sure. So…my coffee loving friends, have you tried a new technique this Summer?

Thank you so much for taking a coffee break with me today and I hope you see you again next week. Have a fabulous Thursday!

CAS Mixed Media Birthday Card

Hello everyone…I am back to my craft room after being away for 2 months! And today I have a CAS, Mixed Media Birthday Card to share with you.

I created this card with some dies and stamp. Pretty simple and quick to put it together. There is a fun simple tutorial using alcohol inks at Splitcoaststampers. You can check it out here. First I created couple panels using glossy photo papers (my stash) and Adirondack Alcohol Inks: Wild Plum, Eggplant, Stream. Then I die cut them with Balloons and Streamers Dies.

For the background, I used the Lattice Background Die and Pierced Rectangles Dies. For the sentiment panels, I used the Celebration Stamp set, Ovals Dies, and Stitched Ovals Dies.

I used Darice White cardstock, The PaperStudio heavy weight cream cardstock, CTMH purple cardstock, and ODBD Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad.

To finish my card, I embellished it with some yellow/white twine and white pearl gems.

Thank you for stopping over today! Have a great day!

Joy Clair Meets Imagine Crafts: Blog Hop and Giveaway

Welcome to Joy Clair and Imagine Crafts Collaboration Blog Hop! We are so glad you joined us for this fun blog hop. We have two different design teams, full of talented ladies that will surely inspire you along the way for these 2 days: May 17th and May 18th! And of course amazing prizes to share with you!!!

I have 2 projects to share with you today. First is mixed media card using the Dream Big clear stamps, Hello Sentiments clear stamps, Kaleidacolor Bouquet, Memento Tuxedo BlackGooseBumps Texture Spray, and Fireworks! Girls’ Night Out Pack.

I used a brayer to add the Kaleidacolor Bouquet on a piece of white cardstock. I just love how the colors blend so well! Rainbow makes me happy 😀 Next step, I sprayed the GooseBumps Texture Spray on it and let it dried aside. Once the panel dried well, I run it through my diecutting machine with Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.

On another piece of white cardstock, I sprayed the Fireworks! Sprays and then stamped the Dream Catcher image from Dream Big clear stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad  and fussy cut it out. And I also stamped the sentiment with the same ink and cut out a banner.

Check out the shimmer from the Fireworks! Sprays… don’t you love it? I know I do and I cannot stop using these sprays.

On my second card, I also use the same Fireworks! Girls’ Night Out Sprays to create the background and as watercolor paint. Oh yes… I love watercoloring with these sprays 🙂

For the background shaker window, I sprayed the inks on a piece of watercolor paper, and then using my Mini MISTI I stamped on of the borders from the Aztec Background clear stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. Then I run it through my diecutting machine with 2 sizes of Rectangle dies to create the shaker window.

I stamped the warrior image from Prayer Warrior – Bible Journaling clear stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and watercolored it with the Fireworks! Girls’ Night Out Sprays. Then I fussy cut it with scissors.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Memento Dew Drop – Sorbet Scoops (Rose Bud and Angel Pink) and Mini MISTI to create the ombre color. Then I cut it out as banner.

I added the acetate on the shaker window with On Point Glue. Next, I added the sequins on the cardbase, and then added the shaker window with thick 3D foam tape, and added the girl warriow and sentiment banner with On Point Glue on top of it.

That’s my cards today to share with you all. I hope they inspire you to create your own handmade cards to share the joy with others!
