Welcome to Joyful Stars July 2014 Blog Hop! This is a blog hop from Close To My Heart Independent Consultants where we all wanna share with your the projects we created using Close To My Heart products. We are so glad that you are hoping with us today!

If you are here arrived from Nickie’s blog that you are on the right track 🙂 but if you are here first, please visit Joyce’s blog and Nickie’s blog to see what’s they have created for you.

This time I would like to share with you one layer card sets I made for my recent project for a women blogging conference, Declare Conference in August 2014. One layer card is a simple technique yet pretty way to create cards that you need in a short time. I have made 7 sets (5 cards a set) and still have to make 18 sets more!

My first card is I create the background with Frame Flair using Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. Using Topiary and Honey Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, I stamped the flowers that from one of the Hostess Rewards stamp set, Enjoy the Little Things, this stamp you can only get special with your hostess rewards from hosting a home gathering (click here for detail). And the sentiment is from Beautiful Friendship  that I stamped it with Gypsy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.

The next 3 cards I create them using Kraft Cardstock. I stamped the corner doily from Beautiful Friendship and embossed them with White Embossing Powder and heated them with my Craft Heater. The sentiments are from Beautiful Friendship, Joyful Birthday and The Happy Couple. I stamped them with Black from Basics Exclusive Inks Mini Pigment Pad.

The inside of the kraft card set I stamped one of the doily stamp from Beautiful Friendship with Cashmere Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad at the bottom corner White Daisy cardstock that I glued it inside as the place where people can write.

The last card set I would like to share I created the background by stamping one of the arrows from Flights of the Arrows on the White Daisy cards with Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. All the sentiments are from Banner Wishes set that stamped with Ruby Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.

The Big, Bold Thanks

Today I participate at Winnie & Walter blog link up. I created this card using The Big, The Bold and You set. The papers I pick from Amy Tangerine, Sketchbook paper pad. And the card base is from American Craft box card set. This is actually the second card I made using their stamp set 🙂

On a 1.5″ wide piece of pattern paper, I stamped the sentiment using CTMH Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. Then I cut the banner flag with scissors.

For the tag I created the doily border using the negative punch from the scallop circle and I sponged Tim Holtz, Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad on it. After it dried, I added a piece of baker’s twine on the tag.  First, I glued the chevron scallop on the card with Tombow Adhesive, then added the tag using thin 3D foam tape, then the big sentiment banner using thicker 3D foam tape. For doily paper, I added some dots of glue using glue pen and tucked it under the big banner and pressed gently to stick it well.

Just a simple, quick card for card sets I have been making for a project 🙂 THANK YOU for stopping by!

Birthday Cupcake Tag Card

2014-07-05-bday-cupcake-tag-ww-1

A couple weeks ago I got 2 of Winnie & Walter stamp sets. I love their Big and Bold sets, just simple yet gorgeous sentiments. On the weekend, I had a chance to play with one of them – The Big, The Bold and The Happy set.

My husband’s cousin invited us to their second daughter’s first birthday on Saturday and I made a quick card for this little baby girl.

I made the tag with watercolor pencils and clear sparkle embossing, then I punch the bottom with my Scallop Border Punch. An then I stamped the happy birthday sentiment using Black Mini Pigment Pad. I used my Craft Heater to dry it quickly because I was in hurry. Do you see that cute big cupcake dimensional sticker? I got that at a scrapbook outlet store in Tennessee (good thing we do not live in that city! LOL!).

The chevron paper I used for the background is from Amy Tangerin – Sketchbook 6×6 paper pad. I added the background on a White Daisy card with 3D foam tape after I wrapped it with the baker’s twine, but not yet tie it up so I can move around to tie the bow later. Then I added the tag with 3D foam tape and then the cupcake dimensional sticker. Then I moved the twine around gently to positioned the bow on the side of the cupcake. Finished 🙂

We had so much fun at the party, basically we spent 6 hours there! Got to see my husband’s side of the family and the girls had a blast swimming with their cousins. At the end of the party everyone was super tired and fell asleep on the way back home.

To summarize, we had a full of fun July 4th weekend! I hope you had a good one too! Thank you for stopping by today!

The Memory Nest: Make It Monday

Today I am joining The Memory Nest, Make It Monday Challenge. For the first challenge in July, they provide a sketch by Katie Lamb, the new sketch designer. Over the blog, you can see all the fabulous inspirations from the design team!

I am inspired to make a card using the sketch:

and here’s a card I made using the supplies from Workshops On The Goâ„¢ Lollydoodle Cardmaking Kit (G1080):

I stamped the doodle frame and sentiment with VersaMark Watermark Ink Pad, added some white embossing powder (Z2068) and heated it using Craft Heater (Z555). For the Owl (soooo cute!!!), I stamped it using Pear Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2197) and fussy cut it. The woodgrain I stamped it with Cocoa Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2114).

June 2014 Card Chain Challenge Reveal – Amazing Friend

Last month I participated at June Card Chain Challenge over Deborah’s blog. It is a fun card swap challenge. You created a handmade card and send to the person above you on the sign up list and then you will receive a handmade card from the person below you on the list. So, you send out one, you’ll receive one. Beside it is fun and challenging, it is also where you can make new friend and networking between handmade card makers. They are amazing! To know how you can participate in this month challenge, visit Deborah’s blog here.

This time I get to send my card to Greta. She is one sweet, crafty friend. I made this card for her following the options provided by Deborah here: color palate (pure sunshine, indigo blue, and real red) and theme (friendship):

I love this chevron stamp from In The Background (D1540) that  can be used to create fun and colorful background. To create this background card, I stamped it using Outdoor Denim (Z2140), Ruby (Z2170) and Honey (Z2162) Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads.

I stamped the flower from Funky Blossoms (B1452) with Cranberry  Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2116) and  Topiary Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2155). I cut those flowers. The Cranberry one I cut just the flower and glued it on top of the green one so the only the leaves peeking out 🙂 I finished the flower with some Sparkles Clear Assortment (Z1752)

Then I stamped the sentiment from Love This (B1432) with Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2105). The inside phrase is from March 2013 SOTM (S1303) and I stamped it with Ruby Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2170).

And finally, I wrapped yellow and white baker’s twine that I got from Pick Your Plum website.

Did I tell you I have been so much fun creating this card for my friend? Come and join us for this month Card Chain Challenge! I guarantee you’ll like it and having fun 🙂
