Christmas in February

What? Christmas in February? 😀 LOL… I am feeling Christmas spirit in February. Few weeks ago, I made cards for fund raising event that my husband and I had to help the people in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia who lost their Bibles because of the flood water and mud hit my home town. These are 2 of 80 cards I made.

Both cards I made using Sparkle & Shine paper packet and complement elements. The stamp set I used from the Frosted Cardmaking Workshop On The Go Kit. Both kit retired from Close To My Heart.

First card I used the sketch from the Paper Players Challenge #184:

Celebrate the Season by Helen Gullett

Supplies: Sparkle & Shine paper packet, White Daisy Cardstock, Recollections clear gems, Doodle Twine Christmas Collection from Doodlebug Designs, Tombow glue runner, glue dots.

Here’s the second one that I link it up this card at Christmas Cards Challenge #13 – Anything Goes:

Peace and Joy by Helen Gullett

Supplies: Sparkle & Shine paper packet, White Daisy Cardstock, Martha Stewart lace border punch, Nicole gems, Recollections clear gems, Tombow glue runner, Glue Dots, 3D Foam Tape.

And here’s one more Christmas card that I made using the sketch from Page Maps for Scrapping Everyday Miracles March Card Sketch Challenge:

sneep peak birthday card

I would like to share a card I made for a family. It is simple, one layer  card. I am inspired by a card at Muse Challenge #54, the flowers bunch with watercolor effect. I combine with the repeating stamping technique from One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #2.

I cut a piece of white daisy cardstock to make the card base 4.25x 5.5 (A2). Then I stamped the flower image from Card Chatter set (retired) repeatedly with Black Pigment Ink and I dried it with Craft Heater (retired), or you can let it air-dry for a couple of minutes. Then I stamped the sentiment fromBanner Wishes set with Cotton Candy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. I used 1″ X 3 1/2″ My Acrylix™ Block the sentiment fit perfectly on that block.

After the stamping process, I colored the flowers and leaves using American Craft color pencils and I added some glitter using Wink of Stella clear glitter brush. I added some black sparkles and punched one corner with corner rounder to finish the card.

Thank You for stopping by! I hope you like my card 🙂

Best Wishes

A Baby Dresser Card

Since last year, I have been making cards and totally enjoy the process if making them. Today, I would love to share with you all this baby card I made for a friend of ours who just got a beautiful baby girl couple of weeks ago and she is so adorable! She was born premie but she is a fighter! She is now home with her parents and big sister.

I cut a piece of kraft cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock, and one Ariana Paper for the step card baby dresser with my Silhouette Cameo. After than, I just put them all together as it is seen on the picture using Memory Book Glue Dots™, Tombow® Adhesive runner and 3-D Foam Tape. To finish the drawers I added some Flamingo Dots and also couple of them on the sentiment banner.

For the sentiment, I picked one of the quotes from B Is For Baby stamp set. I stamped it usingSmoothie Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. I added it on top of the border I cut from Ariana Paper.

This card is done in less than 15 minutes!! And this card I link up for Joyful Stars February 2014 Blog Hop featuring Valentine’s Day theme project and/or CTMH New Products from Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book. This blog hop starts at Joyce’s blog. Hope you will find this hope full of inspirations 🙂

1000 Gifts Journaling Book

Today I would like to share with you my #1000 Gifts Journaling Book that I made. This journaling book I use to write every single Gift I receive every day in 2014 so that:

  • I will continue see and remember that God is my shepherd and He provides everything I need (Psalm 23)
  • Knowing that He continually be with me through the dark days and show me the light to follow His path (Psalm 23)
  • That I will dwell in His presence with praise every moment (Psalm 23)
  • My prayer is I ask God to teach me to number our days that I may get a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12)

I use this plain black Moleskine journaling book (my husband is a HUGE fan of this brand, he gave me some books to use).

Using Craft Paper Trimmer, I  cut the Skylark paper (X7177B) into 5.5 x 8.25. I used my Xyron  sticker maker to add the adhesive at the back of the paper. Then I added it on the journal cover, pressed gently all over it, then trimmed the extra edges.

After that, I cut the border arrow border arrow trim and added it slightly to the left side. Then I cut the stripe banner from the paper, and added it using 3-D Foam Tape to give some dimension to it.

I decorated it with big Aqua Dots. This is my new favorite too. There are 108 adhesive-backed enamel dots: 7mm, 5mm, 4mm; 3 aqua shades.

At the right bottom corner, I used the left over from the arrow border trim and a short peace of the other side of the paper, and added 2 5mm Aqua Dots.

And I added the name of my journal and the Bible verses using Keyboard Kraft Alphabet. This a handy alphabet stickers you can use for any projects! I finished it with sponged Chocolate Pigment ink from Basics Exclusive Inksâ„¢ Mini Pigment Pads Set using Sponge Daubers to give some vintage looking and I used white Signo Uni-Ball gel pen to make the “stitching” looking line 🙂

Why Memory Keeping Matters

0613-rediscover-CTMH-masthead

Every one has hobby. I have some hobbies, or I call them fun things I love to do as family or just by myself. Two of them are scrapbooking and making cards. I am still learning and exploring my style. So, I join Close To My Heart as an Independent Consultant 3 months ago because they supply what I need for my hobby: papers, kits, stamps, inks, markers, embellishments, tools, etc.

As an Independent Consultant, I am free to manage my own time to do it. I still have the Quite Time with my God on top of my priority, followed by my family, ministry, then my hobby and business. When I joined my friend, Elizabeth’s (she is a wonderful friend and paper crafter!) team, I pray God will bless this not for my own needs, but also use this to bless others, too.

Why Close To My Heart? This is why I choose this paper crafting company and love their products 🙂 I hope after you watch this video, you’ll know why and will love it too!

If you have any questions about Close To My Heart, or anything, please feel free to send me email or leave a comment on this post. I will get back to you as soon as possible 🙂
