First Day Of School

Today is the day! The day when my Big Girl is going back to school. She is super excited for today, her first day of school as First Grader. For the whole week… literally whole week, she kept saying, “I cannot wait for my first day of school!”

Honestly, my husband and I do not want our daughters to grow so fast, but growing is part of life. They will keep growing physically and spiritually. We cannot stop the process, but we can enjoy and always be thankful for what God has been doing in their lives.

Today, we celebrate their milestone. The Big Girl is going to First Grade and The Little Girl is starting her Toddler or so called Pre-K school at home with me.

We are thankful.

DIY Happy Mail Label

Handwriting is not my strong side but I love writing letters and cards. I know that email is invented to make sending news and communications much easier and faster. But snail mail is still more. I love when I check my mail box and find a handmade and handwritten card or letter for us. All of those letters and cards sent to us are blessings, joy and encouragement we need. God use them to bless us through our friends’ mail.

Keep writing letters, keep making cards and keep sending them to those you know and love dearly in your hearts. They are blessed when they receive your letter. Do not stop sending happy mail 🙂

Friendship Friday Week 185

Wordless Wednesday: Sisters

Wordless Wednesday is just like what you read, it is wordless. It is a weekly link up party at my friend’s Ramona’s blog, Create With Joy.

It’s time to share your favorite family-friendly photos – with or without words – at the friendliest party in town!

This week I link up my most favorite picture with my sisters. We took “us-fie” (LOL! I made up the word!) when we had my youngest sister’s last day out as a single woman because the next morning she got married.

Oh I miss them a lot! Above all, I thank God for the opportunity we got to be there for her happiest day and to share it with the whole family.

I {heart} My Sisters

This is a digital layout I created using Pixelily Designs new kit: I Heart My Sister and her template: Freestyle from Template Galore Bundle 2. The font I used for the journaling is Pea Denise. Both scrapbook digital kit and Template are available at –> store.gingerscraps.net/Pixelily-Designs/

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful time with your family 🙂

DIY Gift Bag, Card Holder and Journaling Card Box

One more day to the end of February. Wow… time surely flies so fast when we have so much work and fun 🙂 I hope that you have been having great times this month with your families and friends.

My dear church friend and sister had birthday this month and I made her gift bag and gift box. I was a bit late but that she could celebrate her birthday longer, right? 🙂

This is the gift bag. Instead of putting the card inside the bag, I made a card holder for the front of the bag. The birthday card is also the tag.

Cut a piece of cardstock, make sure it is wider than your card. Then cut in the middle of the piece of cardstock slightly wider than the card for the insert hole. Final step is adding to the front of the bag using either double-sided tape or strong glue. I would recommend double-sided tape or Liquid Glass. I was thinking it would be nice for not only just plain rectangle piece of cardstock, so I punched the border of the card holder using Martha Stewart lace border punch.

The card I made using CTMH February Stamp of the Month, A Happy Hello. And the Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads I use are Pixie, Smoothie, Sorbet, Goldrush and Topiary.

I finished the card with some Sparkles Clear Assortment. They are back-adhesived clear gems, ready to use at anytime, no glue needed.

For the gift box, I used My Creations™ Journaling Cards Box. I embossed a piece of Chocolate cardstock with Woodgrain embossing folder using my WRMK Evolution Advance. I made a template of the shapes I need for the box sides using a plain printer paper. And then using them, I cut the embossed cardstock for front, back and both sides of the box. Using some Liquid Glass, I added them on the box.

And I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Heart stamp set using Rock-n-Roll technique. The Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads I use are Chocolate and Goldrush. For the leaves from the same set, I stamped the leaves with VersaMark ink pad on a piece of watercolor paper, added some Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder, heat set it with Craft Heater and then adding some colors I picked up with aqua brush from the lid of these Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads (Chocolate, Goldrush and Olive). Cut the leaves and added them on the box using Liquid Glass and Glue Dots. And I finished the box with some Durables Triangle studs and some Gold Sequin Assortment.

I filled the box with assortment of cards handmade by my friends and me 🙂
