Key To My Heart Shaker Card

Valentine’s Day is only 3 days away. And today I have a card to share with you, Key To My Heart shaker card.

When I saw the center panel step card, I was wondering if I could make a step card with shaker window as the center panel with a polaroid frame and the filler is not only sequins but also with die cut confetti. So, I went through my Silhouette library and AH-HA! I have them already, the step card, polaroid frame with love saying on it and love theme confetti. After that I went digging through my scrap stash to find the papers, cardstocks and everything to fill the shaker window.

And here is the card:

This shaker card is super easy to make using my Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software.

First, I open Lori Whitlock’s Center Panel Step Card on Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software. I ungroup the cutting files. I did not use the artisan shape from the file. Replace it with the polaroid frame. Then I arrange the shapes and color them with the colors of the papers I want to cut. It is easy to remember which patter paper for which shape with colors. The pattern paper I used on this card is Heartstrings Paper Packet. I only used 1 paper because it is double-sided paper with cute pattern perfect for Valentine’s Day theme card. After I arranged the papers on the cutting mat, then I sent it to cut.

Then I put cut the card base, frame, keys and hearts.

I used one of the polaroid frames from The Cut Shoppe, resized it to fit on the front panel card. And for the shaker fillers, I used only the keys and hearts are from Sophie Gallo’s Love Confetti. I also resized the small enough to fit in side the shaker. For these shapes, I used White Daisy cardstock.

To create the shaker on the front panel, I used acetate plastic I saved from left over packing 🙂 This is one way of reuse or recycle boxes. I cut the plastic a little bit bigger than the inside rectangle of the polaroid frame, then I glued it on the frame using Tombow liquid glue. It dries clear and strong. And then adding some 3D foam around the rectangle to create the shaker.

When I added the keys, hearts and gold sequins in side the frame, I found out that I have put the acetate plastic and foam tape on the wrong side of the frame. There is no way to pull them off unless cut a new one. So, I added some Cranberry Baker’s Twine (retired) and a flair from Heartstrings Assortment to cover the mistake on the polaroid frame. And kindda like it this way, the flair looks like having a dove tail cut out 🙂

Card Chain Challenge: November 2014 Reveal

Thanksgiving month was a wonderful month for all of us. I hope you all had a great time with your families and sharing God’s goodness in your lives to each other!

We had a great time with families, too. My husband Aunt and Uncle came visiting on Thanksgiving day and his youngest brother and wife came visiting us on the weekend. Time to be with my husband’s family is one of the blessings from God that we thank Him for.

Celebrating this special month, I loving sending cards to friends and families. Last month I participated at Deborah’s Blog November Card Chain Challenge where all sign-ups send out a card and will receive one, too. This is a wonderful challenge that I love to participate because all cards I have received they are gorgeous with sweet message inside. And most of all, we make friends 🙂 Visit Deborah’s blog to see all the cards were sent out in November and the new schedule for next year, we are taking a break this month for special time, CHRISTMAS!

30 Days Give Thanks: Day 20

IMG_3456.JPG

I am thanking God for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, and new life given to me.

When we have the truth understanding of salvation that is through faith, and not by human effort and religion laws, then we will live our lives differently. We will live joyfully, thankfully and obedience to the Lord Jesus, as the head of everything in our lives.

We will grow strong in the truth because we have the Holy Spirit who leads us into the truth and right path. We will be given understanding and discernment which one from God and which one from human. We will be led to the heart of the Father and stays in Him.

Apostle Paul reminds the believers in Colossians that they were saved by grace and through faith, so lived with faith and not by human judgements.

So do we.

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality. Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud, and they are not connected to Christ, the head of the body. For he holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. (‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭6-23‬ NLT)

30 Days Give Thanks: Day 19

IMG_3453.JPG

Today, I give thanks for Jesus, my Lord, my savior. He is the true vine, source of abundance life. I am forever thankful for every pruning season in my life for He cares and loves those who trust in Him. Apart from Him I can do nothing.

“I AM the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

I AM the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:1-5)

In whom or what do you abide today?

Gold, Silver, One Layer Card

I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is approaching fast!!! I hope you all are ready for this special day. Today, I would like to share a quick Thanksgiving card I created. I am inspired by Virginia’s View Challenge #9 this month:

So many gorgeous pictures for inspirations, aren’t they? And I decided to go with one layer with gold and silver embossing only. A quick and simple Thanksgiving card.

IMG_3436.JPG

I arranged the leaves from Thankful Heart stamp set (B1463) on 3″ x 3″ My Acrylix® Block and stamped them using VersaMark ink pad (Z891) randomly on the card. Then I added some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder (Z2066). Then heat set it using Craft Heater (Z555). After that, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink pad (Z891) and added some Ranger Silver Embossing Powder (Z2067). I heat set it.

I love the metallic looking!

IMG_3437.JPG

Inside the card, I added a piece of copy paper that I folded into two and used Scallop Border punch (Z1851) to punch the edge. I added it inside layer using adhesive in the middle of the card. Then stamped the Happy Thanksgiving from Thankful Heart set (B1463) using Autumn Terracotta Exclusive Ink Pad (Z2101).
