Jennifer McGuire host this event called Sharing Handmade Kindness. She is awesome card designers and really love her heart for others. You can watch her video about this event here.

This fot the first week of Share Handmade Kindness Challenge and it is all about family and friends. The challenge is to make something for family member or friends, and actually send or give it to them. Isn’t that a great challenge?

Who doesn’t like handmade gift that made out of love and care? I know I do 🙂

For this week challenge, I made this Give Thanks wreath wood plank.

I found this pre-made wood plank at Hobby Lobby. It is ready to be decorated. I got these Fall Wreath cutting file and the quote “In Everything Give Thanks” at Silhouette Design Store. I cut them using my Silhouette Cameo – the best crafting buddy ever! 🙂 – and put them together. I added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink at all the edges of those leaves and using embossing tool, I scored some lines on those leaves to give them some textures of leaf vines.

For the acorns, I gave them some glitter using glitter glue. And using the handle of my embossing tool, I curled the edges of the acorns a little bit.

Final step is adding the finished wreath on the wood plank. I used the Gorilla wood glue. It is a stronger glue compare to glue gun or all-purpose glue on the wood.

It is a gift for our friends, who also our Pastor and his wife. So thankful God sent them to our church and to teach us the truth. What a blessing!

Crafty friends, you still have time to join this challenge and share kindness to your family and friends this week. To link up you project(s), please go here.

Illustrated Faith: God Speaks To Us Because Of Love

We got back from our 2 months trip to Indonesia last week. Just in case you were wondering why I did not blog regularly in the last 2 months 🙂

Originally plan was only to attend my youngest sister’s wedding and spend time with my parents and my family so that our daughters get to know them in real life not only through Skype callings.

But God has different plan for us this time.

For 8 weeks we spent in Indonesia, we learned God’s desire to see every tribe and every people to stand before His throne worshipping Him in every language they speak.

We took our daughters who are 6 years old and 2 years old on this trip. This was a tough trip for them but we prayed and we asked lots of people to pray for us and the girls, asking God for what He wanted to teach and show us this time.

He spoke us through the situations, people we met, and even places we visited. He opened our eyes to see the needs of His word in their lives, He showed us why they need Him, and He put the desire even more in our hearts as family to serve Him there.

As Jesus gave His command to His disciples, this command is also for us, His church, in Matthew 28:18-20. This commands is also known as the Great Commandment.

Supplies: My Mind’s Eye Decorative Tapes, Freckled Fawn wood veneers, Elle’s Studio tags, Stickos Alpa stickers, Target tags & alpha stickers, Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens and Big Brush, Martha Stewart Glue Pen

Maybe you think this command is only for those certain people who called themselves “missionary.” But this command is given to each of Jesus’ follower, to each of us, to you and me. We all are called to go and make disciple, to teach them the truth, to baptize them and to teach them to obey God’s commands. That means, you and I are missionaries, the messengers of God’s message to this world where we live.

When we visited a city, we found out churches in that city are scared to step out of their comfort zone to reach out to the local people who are 100% non-believers and this people group is one of the Unengaged, Unreached People Group.

The question is: Why they are scared?

My heart is broken. I keep praying for this people group and for those believers who live among this unreached people group that they will have courage to go out and reach out to them, to go sharing the Good News to them.

God’s love endures forever. He is patient enough waiting for each of us to repent and come to Him. His love never ends. His love never fails. His love for the people in Indonesia is the same love he has for us who live in the States or anywhere else.

There are at least 400 languages groups (people groups) who have been waiting to know God’s unfailing love to them, waiting to hear He speaks to them in the languages that they understand best in their mind and hearts.

For this reason we went. For this reason we wanna go back to serve there alongside with national translators and national churches to accelerate the proces of translations of God’s word into those 400++ languages!

Supplies: Field Notes pocket notebook, Pilot Gel pens.

This is the truth. The center of the Bible is the Gospel. And the center of theGospel is Jesus Christ. That concludes that the center of the whole Bible is Jesus Christ.

We attended a church with our friend, the preacher said something that reminds us that wherever we are sent to go, we share the Good News, we share Jesus. When we preach, we preach Jesus.

Few times I was asked why we wanna take our family to go and live in Indonesia, where we could get everything and living comfortably in States. The only answer to that question is because we love Him. To love Him is to obey Him and His commandments. Our prayer is to love Him with all our hearts, souls, minds & all of our strength.

Serving Him is an act of love. Because without love it is impossible for us to serve full heart. For only God who gives you and I the power and desire to serve Him (Phillippians 2:13).

It is only one reason. That is because God is so loved the world. He sent Jesus not to judge and condemn. He sent Jesus, His only Son to save and redeem us back to be His.

He calls and sends you and I to go to our “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and The End of The Earth” – to our families, neighbors, friends, and those who we do not know – is to share who He is and why He loves them that much.

Would you go to where God send you?

Silhouette Challenges #28

SOUS Die Cut Challenge: About My Home

Today I am sharing my project I created for this week Die Cut Challenge: Home Sweet Home at Stuck On U Sketches Blog.

This card I created using my Silhouette Cameo and the phrase is from Lori Whitlock design. First I drew a rectangle with size 4.25 inch x 5.5 inch. Then I opened the phrase and resized it to fit inside the rectangle.

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - About My Home

I added on the card base from American Crafts card. I used Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue. The finer the tip of the glue pen is the better 🙂

I finish the card with the Red Enamel Heart from Close To My Heart.

And here’s what I do with the negative cuts:

Happy Mother’s Day & A Challenge

This week we are celebrating Moms over Stuck On U Sketches challenge blog! Today, I’d love to share with you a project I created for their new Die Cut Challenge this week. The theme is “Mom”, create any projects using diecuts and with the theme.

This time I made a watercolored card with Rose die cuts on it. I cut the Rose Lace Flourish out of White Daisy Cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo. First, I rezied them in 3 sizes and the cut them. After I cut the flowers, I trimmed the leaves off. Then I trace the flowers on a piece of watercolor paper. I started coloring inside the rose circles using Watercolor pencils and blended the colors using aqua brush, then I decided to add some light blue.

I am not patient enough to let the paper dries so I used my Craft Heater to speed it up. Once the paper was dry completely, I added the die cut roses using Tombow mono liquid glue using the fine tip.

The flowers needs something, so I took my Wink of Stella Glitter brush and added some glitter on them. And woalah! Love them! Soft and glittery now 🙂

While waiting for the glitter to completely dry, on a strip of vellum, I stamped the sentiment from Happy To Be Friends stamp set with VersaMark Ink Pad, added some Ranger Princess Gold Embossing powder and heat set it using Craft Heater. Using a adhesive runner I added the vellum paper on the watercolor paper, and then added them on the card base.

My card is pretty simple and I keep it less bulky. I hope you to see you playing with us this week! Link up your project here 🙂

Happy Ombre & A Challenge

I saw lots of Ombre inspirations from amazing card makers from using ombre ink pads. I am inspired to try but using individual dye ink pads.

According to Merriam – Webster dictionary, ombre is having colors or tones that shade into each other — used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark.

On this card I made for my friend, I stamped the ombre colored sentiment on a piece of White Daisy cardstock. The sentiment from Happy Everything Stamp Set (special Operation Smile stamp set) using Pasifica and Lagoon Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads.

On the card based, I stamped the Brushstrokes stamp using Whisper Exclusive Inks stamp pad repeatedly.

I colored the Rosey Posey die cut using CTMH alcohol markers (retired). The Rosey Posey cutting file is from The Cut Shoppe and I cut it using my Silhouette Cameo. When it dried, I added on the card using Tombow Mono liquid glue. Then added the sentiment Happy Everything on top of the flower, the lastone is the embossed sentiment banner wrapped with baker’s twine using 3D foam tape.

The is sent to my spcrafting friend Loly for April Card Chain Challenge. This card challenge is a monthly challenge hosted by Deborah Nolan.
