SOUS Die Cut Challenge: Food & Beverage

I cannot believe that Summer is almost done!!! But I cannot complain, we just have been having so much fun this Summer. July is a month full of fun for us that we had awesome cook out on the fourth of July, fantastic weather for playing outside though we had some cloudy and rainy days, road trip, camping and next week we will have VBS at our church. We are thankful for Summer!

Every single moment is worth to remember. One way of remembering our memories is scrapbooking. I have been scrapbooking since 2009 after our first baby girl was born. Now she loves seeing her baby book 🙂 I am working on our second baby girl’s book and hoping when she is bigger, she’ll love it too. Then I thought, well… I don’t have yet book about me and my husband. So, I started our first scrapbook album that record our first year memories as husband and wife. That is just the beginning 🙂

Today I would like to share with you one of the page I made for SOUS Die Cut Challenge this week.

This is one of our stories when we went to my hometown and had these local “must eat food” That was Dave’s second time visiting actually, but our first time visiting my family. Scrapping these pictures made me hungry and miss those food 😀 LOL!!!

For our album I used My Crush™ Bluebird Book and Memory Assortment from Close To My Heart. I added some of the Color-Ready Trinkets Wooden Shapes, Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape, Honey Triangles Washi Tape, and Silver Geometric Washi Tape.

The banner I embossed a piece of White Daisy Cardstock with Chevron Embossing Folder using my WRMK Evolution Advanced. I cut Cocoa Cardstock for the title using my Silhouette Cameo. I used this free font, Bira font worked well with die cut machine! Do you see that fork, spoon and knife? I found them at Silhouette Online Store designed by Megan Hardy. After I resized them, I cut them from a piece of Champagne Cardstock to match the color with the book page.

So, I have 6 pictures for this limited space and the solution is this awesome Memory Protectors™ Flip Flaps™ Small Assortment! They are Slide photos or other artwork into the pocket and attach the Flip Flap with its adhesive strip. 4 each of 2″ × 2″, 3″ × 3″, 3″ × 4″, and 4″ × 4″.

On this page I use only 2 of the 4″ x 4″ that holds 4 pictures and I added one more picture on the page, there I have 6 pictures on this 10″x7″ page! I added Bronze Shimmer Trim on to cover on the flip flap. I love this Flip Flaps pockets! 😀

Hope to see your project link up with us at SOUS Die Cut Challenge and other challenges until the end of the month, you can win the blog candy!

2014-07-11-sous-diecut-lw

I found this cute scooter from Silhouette Online Store designed by Lori Whitlock. Cardstocks I used for the scooter are Black (from Basic Combo), Sky (from Whimsy Combo), Lagoon (from Adventure Combo), White Daisy. I cut the shapes with my Silhouette Cameo, all at once. Before I put them together, I stamped the diagonal stripes from In The Background (D1540) with Sky Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2194) on the layer of the scooter. I put them together using the glue pen.

On a White Daisy Card (X254), randomly I stamped the clouds from Lifting Spirits set (C1570) with Sky Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2194).

The banner I picked from one of the banners from Lifting Spirits set (C1570) and stamped it with Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2105). The sentiment on the banner is from Give A Lift (D1581) which I stamped with Ruby Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2170). I used the Piercing Tool Kit (Z1114) to poke the holes on the back of the scooter and the edge of the banner to tie up the thread. I added everything on the card using 3D Foam Tape (Z1151) for extra dimensional.

This card  is on its way to my friend’s house 🙂

2014-06-27 sous-diecut-inwater

I created this card using my Silhouette Cameo. I found this whale with wave set on Silhoeutte Online Store. Isn’t that cute? The background cloud I stamped the 3 clouds from Lifting Spirits stamp set (C1570) with Sky Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. The plane, banner and sentiment are also from the same set. I stamped them with Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad and colored the plane with pencil color. Then fussy cut them and I added them on the card with glue dots, the very bottom wave I used 3D foam tape to give extra dimension.

DIY Embroidery Hoop Wall Decor: Bee Creative

TGIF! We love this weekend! There are 2 special days we celebrate this weekend: our 6th Anniversary and Father’s Day! I hope you also will have fabulous day celebrating Father’s Day with your family 🙂

This time we challenge you to use any ANIMAL die cuts on your projects. To be enter to win the prize, you need to link up your project HERE. So here’s my project for this challenge:

sous-diecut-animal-1

I used this 10″ Embroidery hoop at craft store and piece of fabric that big enough for the hoop. I cut the Bumblebee (#11508) using my Silhouette Cameo. Then glued each shapes together using Elmer’s Craft Bond, Fine Line glue pen.

Then I glued the finished piece on the fabric using the Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue, all-purpose craft glue.

sous-diecut-animal-2

Then I added the title using CTMH Cork Alphabets (retired) and I felt something was missing… so I added extra embellishments from Mini-Medley Accents Ruby Collection. Love the fabric flower, button, clothe pins and baker twine in this mini set!

Here’s the close up of the hoop:

This is very easy and quick to make once you gather the supplies. And it is up on my craft room wall now! I thin I am going to make more in different designs 🙂

This challenge last for 2 weeks. Come and join us! I cannot wait to see your projects!

DIY Baseball Banner for Baby Boy Shower

Couple months ago, our friend had a baby shower for their baby boy and they picked baseball themed party because they are a huge fan of Cincinnati Reds (we are too! :D) So, I created this banner for them:

hg-babyshower-baseball-banner

First, I created the baseball shape using Silhouette Studio Designer software and then I cut them with my Silhouette Cameo. The size of each baseball is 5 inches. For the balls I used White Daisy Cardstock and the red stitching I used Ruby Cardstock. Then I punched the holes and I used jute twine I got from a craft store.

For the name, I cut out the letters from Black Cardstock and I added some glitter using Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then I added the letters on the balls using 3D foam tape to give some dimension to them.

We totally had a fun baseball themed baby shower for my friend’s baby boy! Friends and families celebrated the blessing of God in this family. And few weeks ago we finally met this little guy! He is adorable!
