Hello Friend

Masculine card has been always a challenge for me. This is a card I made today turn out to be more masculine style than I was planning to be 🙂

IMG_4643-0.JPG

I picked kraft cardstock as the base card, wanna have similar ink color for the border and black for sentiment. But I tried gold for the sentimen and turned out monochromatic. Love it 🙂

I bought Winnie & Walter – V for Chevron stamp set last year and had not any time to play with it yet. But today, I had so much fun creating this monochrome card.

First I stamped the chevron with Desert Sand Exclusive Ink Pad multiple time creating the bottom and above borders. And then I heat embossed the sentiment from Winnie & Walter – The Big, The Bold and Happy stamp set. I mixed the Gold embossing powder (CTMH) with Clear Glitter embossing powder (Whisper, I got it from AC Moore).

I link up my card at 3 amazing challenges:

Darnell’s NBUS Challenge. This is one fun challenge, just perfect for me (and you, too) who have TONS of Never-Before-Used-Schtuff lying around screaming to be used 🙂

The Layout Sketch Challenge

The Card Sketch Challenge

The Bible verse Theme Challenge – 2 Corinthian 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.”

And this month, I play along with the Card Sketch challenge. Here’s the card I created:

I embossed the card based using my WRMK Evolution Advanced and CTMH Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. Using Watercolor brush, I pick some Hollyhock Exclusive ink from the ink pad lid and splatter it on the card randomly while I squeezed the water out. Have to be very careful to do this because you do not want the water to flow too much out of the brush and will soak your card.

Then I let the card based dry on the side. While it was drying, I cut a piece of White Daisy cardstock for the tag using my Silhouette Cameo and punch the bottom of the tag using Scallop Border Punch. Then tie up a piece of Baker’s twine I had in stash (I forgot the color’s name of it… sorry! But it is grey and white).

For the flowers, on White Daisy cardstock, I stamped the flowers from The Big, The Bold and Extras set from Winnie & Walter using Hollyhock and Blush (retired, replaced with new pretty color, Pixie) Exclusive Ink Pads, then the leaves using Pear and Topiary Exclusive Ink Pads. Then I cut them using micro-tip scissors. I arranged them on the tag and glued them using glue pen. Then added some Sparkle Clear Assortment gems. From the same stamp set, I stamped the banner and sentiment using Black Exclusive ink pad. I added the banner on top of the flower cluster using 3D Foam Tape.

Before adding the tag on the card base, check to make sure the splatter ink is dry completely, if not, you can use any embossing heater to dry it, like I did using my Craft Heater. When it was completely dry, I added the border paper and arrow that I cut out from Heartstrings paper packet (lovely paper for this theme). Final step is to add the tag on the card. I glued the twine using a little bit of Liquid Glass (all-purpose liquid glue, dries clear, strong – best glue I ever used!) so it stays on the card, not flapping around. And my card is done 🙂

THANK YOU so much for visiting today!

A Rainbow Thank You Card

IMG_1550.JPG

I am learning about watercoloring and been having so much fun with it 🙂 Today, I made a card to join the fun week with Winnie & Walter, Share the Love Week 1, featuring Simon Says Stamp. There so many inspirations on W&W blog!

On a piece of watercolor paper, I used CTMH Watercolor pencils to make the rainbow background, added some water using the brush and Ta-Da! Love it! I dried it with my Craft Heater for quick drying, you also can just let it air dry if you are not in hurry. I added adhesive using Xyron large sticker maker.

Using Silhouette Studio Designer, I resized W & W Freebie, Cut Files Basic Vol.1. It is a diagonal stripe journaling card size so I resized it first as big as my card base. Cut it. I used using Liquid Glass glue to add it on top of the watercolored background.

I love W & W The Big, The Bold and Extra stamp set!! Those gorgeous flowers & leaves I stamped a lot of them on a piece of CTMH White Daisy cardstock using CTMH Exclusive Inks Pads: Pixie, Smoothie, Pear and Olive. Then I fussy cut them.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp May 2013 Card Kit stamp set. I stamped it on a piece of velum with VersaMark ink pad, added some Gold Embossing powder and then heated it up with my Craft Heater. I used Liquid Glass to add it on the card.

Then at last step I added a bunch of flowers and leaves on the velum using Liquid Glass and 3D Foam Tape.

Thank you for being here 🙂

Thankful Thursday

I would like to share one Thank You card on every Thursday. This is my first post on this Thank You Thursday! 😀 This is for ALL OF YOU, my readers!

2014-08-28-winnie&walter

I go with clean, simple and monochrome. On a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Kraft Card, I use VersaMark watermark ink pad to stamp those roses and leaves from The Big, The Bold and Extra stamp set from Winnie & Walter. Then I add some Ranger Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I heat them up with my Craft Heater and love to see they melt into pretty solid embossed white roses.

The banner is from the same stamp set, and the sentiment is from Big Bold You stamp set. I stamp both banner and sentiment using Black Exclusive Ink Pad. Then I fussy cut the banner and add on the card using 3D foam tape for some dimension.

I use Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add some color on the edges of the card.

I appreciate the time you spend to read and write comments on my blog, THANK YOU! This is specially for you 😀 You mean a lot to me!

The Big, Bold Thanks

Today I participate at Winnie & Walter blog link up. I created this card using The Big, The Bold and You set. The papers I pick from Amy Tangerine, Sketchbook paper pad. And the card base is from American Craft box card set. This is actually the second card I made using their stamp set 🙂

On a 1.5″ wide piece of pattern paper, I stamped the sentiment using CTMH Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. Then I cut the banner flag with scissors.

For the tag I created the doily border using the negative punch from the scallop circle and I sponged Tim Holtz, Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad on it. After it dried, I added a piece of baker’s twine on the tag.  First, I glued the chevron scallop on the card with Tombow Adhesive, then added the tag using thin 3D foam tape, then the big sentiment banner using thicker 3D foam tape. For doily paper, I added some dots of glue using glue pen and tucked it under the big banner and pressed gently to stick it well.

Just a simple, quick card for card sets I have been making for a project 🙂 THANK YOU for stopping by!
