Desert Rose Art Journal – Graciellie Design New Release

Hello everyone… May brings all the beautiful flowers. We have some that already blooming, and some are coming up soon… Inspired by flowers, today I have a Desert Rose Art Journal for this month that I created using the new digital stamp.

This new Desert Rose digital stamp is design by from Gracie. She has beautiful digital stamps and papers collection at her Etsy store, Graciellie Design.

I use this digital stamp on my May art journal. They are just so pretty!

I open the files with flower picture editing program, resized them into 3 sizes and then printed them with my inkjet printer on a heavyweight white cardstock. After that I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors.

I colored them with Leisure Arts Watercolored Pencils and brush. I colored each of the bottom and tip of the petals and leaves. And then using watercolor brush and water, I pulled the pigment to fill the rest of the image. They turned into watercolored flowers. I set them a side to dry.

For the mixed media background, I started with adding acrylic paints (yellow and red) on my Canson Mixed Media journal page with brayer.

And then using used bubble wrap, I stamped it randomly on the page with black paint.

Once the paint dried, I added the homemade texture page on it with an old credit card. I spread all over the page thinly. And while the texture page still wet, I stamped the Joy Clair – Broken Brick Background Clear Stamp on it to give the wall texture on it. I cleaned the stamp right away with warm water so the texture paste won’t stuck on the stamp.

I added some Heidi Swapp Gold Screen Ink on brick texture and let it dry.

For the sentiments, I resized them to be big enough for the page. I printed them and trimmed them into rectangles. I drew the frame line using Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen.

All the pieces are ready to be put together. I added the flowers and sentiment with Aleene’s Tacky All Purpose Glue on the texture page. I finished the page with some white paint that I added it on the page using fan brush.

I love finding inspiration from the nature, especially flowers 🙂 I hope you all also can enjoy this art journal today. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Have a fabulous day!

Call On The Lord Mixed Media Art Journal

Joy Clair Color By Faith

Hello everyone… I am here today with a mixed media art journal on Psalms 116: 2 “Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.”

He is one faithful God who never fail. We can find amazing stories in the Bible to proof He had heard His people. They cried out to Him and asked for His helps, and He came to help and save them. He has heard my prayers in the past, and I have faith in Him that He is listening to my prayers right now. And He will do that in the future, too.

I created this art journal using the Call On The Lord stamp set. This stamp set is one of the new Color By Faith stamp collection. I started the process by added some of the acrylic paints using brayers, bubble warp, and palette knife. Using these tools is a fun way of creating layers of background with some texture.

You can visit Joy Clair Blog today to read the full post and tutorial how I created this art journal page.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day!

April Art Journal: Butterflies, Succulent, and Rainbow

Hello everyone….Today I have an Art Journal Page to share with you. This month, I learn new things and try something new about mixed media technique and I have so much fun when I created this page.

On this page, I experimented with some mediums: Texture Paste, Distress Crayons, Caribbean Color Brust Powder, Black Archival Ink, Stamper’s Big Brush Pens, and Perfect Pearls mixture spray.

I also use the Succulent stencil from Stencil Girl and the new stamp set from STAMPlorations, Trendy Butterfly 2.

To create the rainbow-y background, I sprinkle some powder from the Carribean Color Burst set and spray them with the Perfect Pearls mixture spray. I love the extra texture and colors show appeared after the spraying.

Then I added the texture paste with the Succulent stencil in the middle of the page, dried it with craft heater, and then using my finger I added the blue, teal and purple distress crayons. Then I sprinkle a little of purple and teal color burst in the middle of the succulents and sprayed with the Perfect Pearls spray. Look at the extra shine and pearly look on them 🙂

Then I drew the frame with black Stamper’s Big Brush Pen and colored it with the dark brown Stamper’s Big Brush Pen.

And then I stamped the butterlies randomly on the page with Black Archival Ink. Then I decided to sprinkle a little color burst powder on each of them for extra colors 🙂

I stamped the sentiments on white cardstock with archival ink, cut it out, and added some dark brown frame on each of them using the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen. I added them on the page with 3D foam tape.

I love how it turned out when I finished. With mixed media, I learn to expect the unexpected results 🙂 I hope you can enjoy this page as much as I do.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

March Art Journal: Spring Evening

Hello everyone… I start creating art journal since January and my goal is to learn new mixed media technique or try it every month. I am so thankful for those who share tutorials on YouTube 😀

So today, I am back today with the March Art Journal. I am inspired by Spring and lately the evenings have been wonderful here where we live 🙂

First, I created the night background with some Blue, Purple, Yellow, Turquoise/Teal and Pink acrylic paints plus some Black Soot Distress Ink. Once the background was done, I added some white splatters with white acrylic paint and brush.

One thing I learn when creating this background is that using baby wipe is better way to blend the Distress Ink on top of the acrylic paint. I tried to use my finger but it did not give me even blended background. And since the distress ink react with any kind of liquid, I would suggest to seal it before you add other medium on it.

Next, I added the clouds on the page with my new Clouds ARTplorations Stencil from STAMPlorations and some Ranger Texture Paste using my palette knife. I like how the clouds show the colors from the background when they dried. It is actually something new I found out, too, with using the texture paste. But I think it create the night clouds as I image 😀

And for the flowers I created them with some old book pages and stamp set I used is Blossom Stamp Set from Precious Remembrance Shop.

First I stamped the images on the old book pages with Ranger Archival Ink Pad. Then I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors.

I added them on the page with some gel medium and let them dried well. You can always speed up the drying process with craft heater, that’s what I did only because I cannot wait.. LOL 😀

Then, the fun part is to color the flowers with Distress Crayons. I used the red, pink, yellow, orange and green from the set 1 and set 7. Just scribble a little bit on the image, and blend with finger. The colors are easily blended with the gel medium already covered the flowers.

That’s my March Art Journal. It is simple and I had fun time mixing mediums on this page 🙂 I hope you all will like it and will try to create something beautiful inspired by Spring flowers and colors around you.

THANK YOU for visiting me and have a fabulous day!
