Don't throw the pearls of the Gospel before swine…

Not many of us stop to think about how we got the Word in our own language: English.

John Wycliffe, a Catholic priest, had a vision for the English peasants. The English language, considered a minority or ‘throw-away’ language in his day (the Church used Latin), Wycliffe believed that it was an injustice for this ‘marginalized group’ NOT to have access to Scripture so that they did not need an intermediary to interpret it for them.

A Visit From Indonesia

Minford flood Wall Mural

My best friend friend and sister, June, came to visit us from Indonesia (December 4 – 7, 2010). She was here for a meeting with her team discussing about the translation project for people in Southeast Ambon. She stayed with us for 3 days and we had great time together, shared stories and encouraged each other. We took her for a little Southern Ohio tour on the way back from picking her up at the Columbus Airport to Minford, through Jackson (because Dave tool a wrong turn ^_^). She had a chance to share about her ministry and what God has done and is doing among the people through the Bible Translation project where she is working now. It was awesome presentation, pictures and even she sang a song in Indonesian as our prayer for the country. God really spoke to us through her.
