Handmade Christmas Card and Ornament

Hello hello hello… Today, I would like to share couple handmade gift ideas with you.

Today, I am sharing these watercolored ornament card and ornament slice at Joy Clair Blog. They can be gift ideas that you can make.

I use the Vintage Christmas Ornaments stamp set to create this CAS Christmas card. I stamped the ornaments with Antique Linen Distress Ink on a watercolor paper 140 lbs. I did not use any masks to create that stacked ornaments becuase when I painted them with watercolor paper, the Distress ink reacted with the water and blended in. But if you use non reacted dye inks or pigment inks, you will need the masks.

I painted the ornaments with Shimmerz Inklingz Watercolors (I’m Not Limon, Blue My Mind, and Good As Gold). These watercolor paints have the shimmering, metallic look. I dried the paints with craft heater, and then I sprayed it with some water using the Distress Sprayer. I dabbed the water off with paper towel to get more distressed, vintage look on them.

I added some extra gold splatters on the background with the Good As Gold Shimmerz Inklingz. After that, I dried it again with craft heater and cut it with Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I stamped the ornament again three times (just the top of the ornament) on a white cardstock with VersaMark Ink Pad and then I added some silver embossing powder. I heat set the embossing powder with craft heater and then fussy cut them with scissors. I added them on the ornaments with dries-clear permanent glue. I drew the stings with Posca Metallic Silver Paint Marker.

I stamped the sentiment on one of the ornament using MISTI with Delicata Silver Ink Pad, and then I stamped it again with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink Pad. I dried ink with craft heater. I added this finished background on top of a green card base with 3D foam tape for extra dimension to all the ornament caps.

Second handmade gift than you can make with Joy Clair Stamps is this chalkboard wood slice Christmas ornament. On this wood, I used The Reason Stamp Set and Snowy Greetings Stamp Set.

First, to paint the base color. I used Chalk Paint for the base. The paint dries fairy quickly. I usually paint the base twice, but if once is enough for you and that is okay, too.

To give the white chalk look on the background, I dibbed my finger in a white paint and lightly painted on the chalkboard. I had wet (not too wet) paper towel to remove the paint so not too much on the background.

I stamped the images and sentiment on both side with white acrylic paint, too. I put the stamp on acrylic stamping block and I added the paint with mini brayer. I put the stamp directly in a bowl with warm water so the paint won’t dried on the stamp and will be easy to clean.

I tied up the twine and done. You have a handmade Christmas ornament that you can also mass-produce this ornament as gifts.

I hope these projects give you some ideas to get crafty this Holidays. What would you make for this Holidays?

Watercolored Christmas Card | Peace and Joy

Hello hello hello… I don’t know about you, but we counting down to Christmas here in our house. The little ones are getting SUPER EXCITED and don’t stop singing all kind of Christmas songs. It is such a joyful season for sure!

My Christmas card today is a watercolored Christmas card using this beautiful Poinsettia Greetings Stamp Set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I love the big poinsettia flower from this stamp set and also all the sentiments.

I stamp the poinsettia flower image on a 140 lbs watercolor paper with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink Pad and MISTI. This ink is soft and give extra metallic gold look. I dried this pigment ink with craft heater.

I colored the flower with Sakura Koi Watercolor and waterbrush. It turned out to be a little bit like no-line coloring which I did not expect that… But I like it. I dried the whole image again with craft heater.

After watercoloring, I added extra splatters on it with Finetec Gold Palette Watercolor and waterbrush. I used the gold and silver. I dried it again with craft heater.

I stamped the sentiment on a black cardstock with the Golden Glitz Delicata ink pad and added some clear embossing powder on it while the ink still wet. I heat set it with craft heater and then trimmed it into sentiment strip.

I trimmed the watercolored poinsettia panel to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and added it directly on top of a white card with EZ Grand Adhesive Runner and then I added the sentiment with 3D foam tape. And, I embellished this card with the red ribbon bow on top of the card.

I hope you all will have peace and joy in your hearts and home for knowing the real reason of this holidays. God is here with us! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Have a blessed season!

CAS CARD | Christmas Blessings

Hello everyone… Christmas is getting so close now… Here in my house, we have two little girls who counting down and they wish they could do it faster!

I am also a guest designer for Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps for this month and today, I have a CAS Christmas card to share with you that I created with their beautiful Poinsettia Greetings Stamp Set.

This card is very simple to make and quick if you need to mass produce Christmas cards. Supplies you need beside the stamp set are:

  • White Detail Embossing Powder (I used Hero Arts)
  • Gold Embossing Powder (I used Rangers)
  • Embossing Ink Pad (I used VersaMark)
  • Anti static powder (I used EK Tool)
  • Craft Heater (I used Close To My Heart)
  • Vellum Paper (I used Bazzil)
  • White Cardstock (to make the card base and sentiment)
  • MISTI
  • Microtip scissors (I used EK Tool)
  • Bone folder (I used EK Took)
  • Paper Trimmer (I used Fiskar)
  • Vellum Tape (I used Tombow)
  • 3D foam Tape

I put the vellum paper on MISTI and secured it with the magnet bars and then I added some of the anti-static powder on it. Then, I stamped the poinsettia image directly on the vellum with MISTI and VersaMark ink pad.

I pre-heated the craft heater for several seconds to make sure it hot and then I heat-set the embossing powder on the vellum. After they all melted, I fussy cut the poinsettia flower with the microtip scissors and I added it on the card with vellum adhesive.

For the sentiment, I added the anti-static powder on a piece of white cardstock, then stamped the phrase on it with VersaMark ink pad and MISTI. I added the gold embossing powder on it and heat set it with the craft heater. I trimmed it with paper trimmer and added it at the corner with 3D foam adhesive.

That’s my quick, CAS Christmas card for today. I hope you all enjoy it, too. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Stencil Challenge | Christmas Cheer

December is here!!! I hope the joy of the holly jolly Holidays start filling your hearts and homes.

STAMPlorations has new challenges at their blog starts on every 1st of the month. One of the challenges is the Stencil Challenge. You are invited to create and link up your Anything Goes project as long as you use any stencils on your project. Head over to their blog to see more inspirations from the team today.

I made a mixed media, CAS Christmas card for this challenge. On my card I used the Make Marks 5 ARTplorations Stencil, Christmas Reindeer ARTplorations Stencil, and Yuletide Deer Stamp Set.

I use my gelli plate and acrylic paints (white and read) to create that patterened background. After the acrylic paint dried, I added the raindeer stencil on top of the panel, secured it tapes and I added the gold metallic glitter texture paste on it. I removed it right away and run the stencil under a warm water to clean it.

After the texture paste dried, I trimmed it slightly smaller than the A2 card and I added that background mat on a red card with E-Z Runner Gran.

I stamped the sentiment phrase on a white cardstock with Tulip Red VersaFine Clair ink pad and Mini MISTI. I stamped it twice to get darker red color. I trimmed the sentiment into a banner and I added on the card with 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

I hope this card give you an idea to create and play along with the December Stencil Challenge. When you create your project using any STAMPlorations stencils, stamps, and/or dies, you can also link it up at the Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge.
