Mixed Media ATC and Card with Joy Clair

Hello everyone… Today I have couple mixed media projects to share with you that I created using Joy Clair stamps together with some die sets, coloring mediums, and inks.

I also share the steps how I created them at Joy Clair Blog.

The first project is a set of 3 ATC cards that I created using the Little Monsters Stamp Set. It is one of the new Bible Journaling stamp sets from Joy Clair. They are super adorable monsters!!! And you can check all the Color By Faith collection here.

I stamped the monster images with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad on watercolor paper using Mini MISTI. And then I colored them with Arteza Real Brush pens only at the bottom of the image, then using watercolor brush I pulled the color toward the top to create the gradient colors. I decided to add some extra sparkles to them with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Once they all dried, I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors.

The background I created them with Ken Oliver Color Bursts powder. On a big piece watercolor paper, I sprinkled the powder randomly and then I sprayed with some water. I added some extra colors to make it look like galaxy background. I dried them each time I added color. And I sprinkle some of white paint with fan brush to add extra stars on it.

I used craft heater to dry my watercolored background.

And then I die cut the cards using the ATC Die Set. I cut them to 3 cards. It is not only cut the paper, but also give some embossed border line to it.

For the sentiment, I stamped them on heavy weight cardstock with… and then I die cut them with Double Stitched Pennant Flag Die Set and Luggage Tags Die Set.

This stamp set is perfect for any type of projects for sure, such as Bible journaling, cards, lunch box notes, etc…

On my second card, I use Fly With Me stamp set, die cut sets, distress inks, and alcohol markers.

First, I stamped the hot air balloons and clouds with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad on a white heavy weight yardstick. I used my Mini MISTI stamping tool to stamp so I can get solid image by stamping each of them twice.

I colored them with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. Then I used the Colorless Blender to get the pastel look color. Beside blending colors, the blender marker can be used to soften bright colors. After that, I added some sparkle on them with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, and cut them out with micro-tip scissors.

Next I used watercolor paper to creat the watercolored background with smooshing technique. I added the distress ink on my craft mat, sprayed with some water, and smooshed in the watercolor paper. I dried it in between adding colors to get extra texture and different shade of blu on the background. Then I die cut it out with the Double Crazy Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. This die, not only cut the paper, but also give the embossing texture on it.

I added the background panel on the card base with lots of adhesive to make sure it adhere on it.

Next step, I die cut a heavy weight white cardstock with one of the Luggage Tag Dies, and then using the die to stencil the color inside. I picked up the color from Distress Ink using stencil brush and simply brush it inside the tag. Once I  done, I removed the die.

Then I die cut the tag with the same die that i used on the background to match the border. I wrapped some twine around the edge of the tag, tied a bow, and then added on the card with 3D foam tape.

After that I added the cut out hot air balloons and clouds on the card with liquid adhesive and 3D foam tape.

My projects are done. I hope you all can enjoy them and be inspired to create with Joy Clair… And make sure to follow Joy Clair on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube for more updates, new release news, and inspirations. Thank you so much for stopping by today…

Thursday Coffee Break: Let’s Get Caffeinated

clc-thursday-coffee-break-logo-640x640

Hello everyone… I the last 2 weeks, my favorite thing to do is enjoying my cup of coffee and watching colorful leaves on the trees on our backyard. And today, let’s take a Thursday Break with some of your favorite drink 🙂 and create with Technique Tuesday.

I personally love happy mail, I bet you do to. A friend sent me a new coffee stamp set last week and I decided to use it for today’s CAS, Mixed Media Card over Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog.

Thursday Coffee Break Technique Tuesday Let's Get Caffeinated

The stamp I used on my card today is from Technique Tuesday, called Perk Up Stamp Set that has cute sentiments and adorable images. You can check out their coffee/tea collection here. You’re gonna love them 🙂

First, I distress the background paper from Canvas Corp – Haunt It: Halloween Stripe on White Paper with Distresser Tool and add it on the Kraft Card Base. And then I sprayed some of the irRESISTible Texture Spray – Electric Yellow directly on the paper and let it dry on the side while I was working on the sentiment and inside card.

For the front sentiment, I created a vintage look watercolored background using Vintage Photo Distress Ink with smooshing technique. Once the paper dried, I stamped the sentiment and cups using Mini MISTI with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. And then I colored the cups with Orange and Gold Spectrum Aqua Markers and using watercolor brush to blend the colors together. I added some shadow around the cups with ligthers grey colors from Faber Castell  Brush Pen – Grey Set.

Thursday Coffee Break Technique Tuesday Let's Get Caffeinated

For the inside of the card. I cut out 2 white cardstock as mats. I stamped on of the mat with the sentiments and hearts from the same stamp set.

I finished the front card with adding the sentiment paper with 3D foam tape, glitter ribbons, and some pearl gems on it.

That’s my card for you today. I hope you can enjoy it with your favorite drink while taking a break 🙂

I hope you all be back tomorrow to check more inspirations from my team mate. THANKS A LATTE for stopping by today! Have a fabulous caffeinated Thursday!
