A Visit From Indonesia

My best friend friend and sister, June, came to visit us from Indonesia (December 4 – 7, 2010). She was here for a meeting with her team discussing about the translation project for people in Southeast Ambon. She stayed with us for 3 days and we had great time together, shared stories and encouraged each other. We took her for a little Southern Ohio tour on the way back from picking her up at the Columbus Airport to Minford, through Jackson (because Dave tool a wrong turn ^_^). She had a chance to share about her ministry and what God has done and is doing among the people through the Bible Translation project where she is working now. It was awesome presentation, pictures and even she sang a song in Indonesian as our prayer for the country. God really spoke to us through her.

It Is The Season of Giving Thanks To God

“We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Colossians 1:3

First of all, we would like to thank God for all of you who always support us in friendship, prayers, finances, and with encouraging e-mails. We are so grateful that God brought all of you in our life. Thank you for being our supporters.

Secondly, we would like to thank God for giving us a great time visiting Dave’s brother and his family in North Carolina (Oct 8-10). Also, we are so thankful to God that we could attend the wedding of our friends, Fletch & Amy in Raleigh, NC (Oct 9).

Dave and Helen were able to go to Cincinnati, OH to celebrate Dave’s Birthday (Oct 15) and went to a concert of a Christian Band. We were so thankful for Dave’s Mom and Grandma who were willing to be with Abigail while we were away.

We were able to attend Explore Wycliffe in Akron, OH (Nov 6) and we are ready to move forward with our application process. We spent the rest of the weekend visiting friends in nearby Ashland, OH.

Understanding Prayer in light of God's Kingdom | Operation World

There is No Doubt as to Call of God for us to Pray!

Prayer is not a self-validating exercise; in a world where there is no loving, sovereign God, prayer would be weakness at best and folly at worst. No, each and every prayer is a tiny piece of a great cosmic puzzle, which when fitted together will allow for the completion of the grand picture of the Almighty Lord’s plan for humanity and the universe. We do not merely pray about the many points featured herein, we pray toward something, and that something is magnificent – the fulfilment of the Father’s purposes and His Kingdom come.
