Shiny Pearly Christmas Cards

Hello everyone! Thanksgiving is TOMORROW! Can’t you believe that? And that means that Christmas is only a month away… I am still working on Christmas cards and gifts, so today I would love to four cards I made with 1 design.

Shiny Pearly Christmas Cards with Joy Clair Stamps

On today’s cards I used stamps from Joy Clair: Christmas Border clear stamp set and Holly Jolly Santa clear stamp set, together with Distress Inks, Versamark ink pad, Ranger Gold embossing powder, Clear Embossing Powder, ODBD – Ornate Ovals Dies, ODBD – Layered Lacey Ovals Dies, Perfect Pearl mix spray, Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers, and some plaid ribbons.

First, I started with creating the backgrounds. On Canson watercolor paper, I stamped and heat-embossed the images from Christmas Border clear stamp set.

And then, I sponges the Distress Inks on each background with make up sponges. Below you can see the color combo of each background. The clear heat-embossed background resisted the Distress Inks. After that, I splatters some water and dabbed it with paper towel for some extra texture on the backgrounds.

Next step is to put the card together. For mass produce cards, I love just to pick 1 design. For these cards, I die cut the labels using ODBD ovals dies and heat-embossed the sentiment from Holly Jolly Santa clear stamp set with Ranger Gold embossing powder.

Then I added the ribbon around the tag, and wrapped it around each background panel, tied up a bow on each. I secure the ribbon with a mini thin glue dot under each bow. But you can use any liquid glue that dries clear and safe to use with ribbons. I also decided to added extra glue dots under each label to make sure it stayed on the card.

I added the backgrounds on the A2 card bases with adhesive runner. I used a lot adhesive because to make sure they stay on the card. Here are the picture of each of them:

I colored the holly leaves and berries with Spectrum Aqua markers. And then I wanted to add extra shiny on the card but did not want to use gems since I already have those bows, so won’t be too bulky to send. So, I sprayed the Perfect Pearl mixture on each of them. Oh… they are shiny and pearly now! Check out the video below:

I know it is a long one today… 😀 I hope you find some inspirations today to keep creating handmade Christmas cards to share the joy of the season this month! THANK YOU for visiting me and have a fabulous day!

  1. You’ve done a fabulous job showcasing the Joy Clair stamps, Helen. I applied for a spot on the DT, but didn’t hear anything. I really hope they find a great group of stampers/artists. I had fun playing along last month, too. I just don’t have a lot of time for challenges right now. We have a full house for Thanksgiving still. Busy, busy, busy!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing cards in our challenge. I always enjoy seeing your entries, and I’m so grateful to have you join us.
