I stamped the inside of the card with the corner doily stamp and phrase stamp fromĀ Beautiful Friendship stamp set. I stamped them using Black and Barn Red Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads. I lightly colored the butterfly with Watercolor Pencils.

And the envelope flap, I decoded it with the big doily from the same stamp set usingĀ Olive Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.

ThisĀ Workshops On The Goā„¢ Chalk It Up Scrapbooking KitĀ (G1081) comes with Chalk It Up Scrapbooking KitĀ stamp set (D-size), Chalk It Up paper packet, matching color card stocks (1 Flaxen, 1 Lagon, 1 White Daisy),Ā Chalk It Up Complements,Ā Chalk It Up Assortment, 1 spool Striped Twill RibbonĀ and an instructional brochure. You can create at least 4 – 12×12 scrapbook layouts with this kit.

The number background I created by stamping the numbers from the Chalk It Up Scrapbooking KitĀ stamp set on a piece 5″ x 6″ Flaxen Cardstock with Whisper Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. This ink is great for shadowing and light stamping.

Every CTMH duo-papers come with a little surprise, matching color and pattern borders. The lagoon dots and Sorbet swirl pattern borders are 2 of the 3 borders from Chalk It Up paper packet. I used my Scallop Border PunchĀ to created the scallop border and added it on the page using adhesive runner, then I added the Sorbet swirl pattern border on top of it.

I used Liquid Glass to add the word YEAR chipboard from Chalk It Up Complements and 3D Foam Tape to add the arrow word on top of the Year word for some dimensional effect.

Do you see those washi tapes??? Aren’t they cute? They are Black Arrow Washi Tape and Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape. And that Sorbet puffy heart is my new favorite assortment from Chalk It Up Assortment.

This ribbon flower I made using Base & Bling Adhesive DotsĀ and Striped Twill Ribbon that comes in theĀ Workshops On The Goā„¢ Chalk It Up Scrapbooking Kit. I added the cute smiley face chipboard in the middle of the flower.

This is just the cover! I cannot wait to fill up all the pages in this week, so come back tomorrow for the sneak peak the pages šŸ˜€

Thank You For Everything, My Friend

Thanks For Everything, My Friend | by Helen Gullett http://helengullett.com/?p=5145 #handmadecards #closetomyheart #ctmh #casualfridaysstamps

Thank You Card is one of the most cards we always need. Usually, I made A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″) cards or square cards, but this time I went with 8.5″ x 3.5″ that fits in no.10 envelope. I used 2 embossing technique on this card: heat and dry.

First, I embossed 8.5″ x 3″ White Daisy cardstock using Chevron Embossing FolderĀ from CTMH and WRMK Evolution Advanced. Then I used my Xyron Create Sticker Max to add adhesive at the back of the embossed cardstock. Then on the other piece of White Daisy 8.5″ x 1.5″, I stamped the flower border from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, Wallflower Set, using Cotton Candy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. Then using Xyron 1.5″ sticker maker I added adhesive on the flower stripe and added it on the card.

Next is the tag, I cut out of watercolor paper to make the tag, then added some colors using CTMH Watercolor Pencils, basic colors and then I wet it with brush and water to create the gradient watercolor effect. Using my Craft Heater I heated it so it dried well before I stamped the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set,Ā Wallflower SetĀ with VersaMark Ink Pad and added some AC Zing! Black Embossing Powder, opaque finish. I heated it with myĀ Craft HeaterĀ and LOVE the bold color on the watercolor tag! Then I stamped one of big individual flower fromĀ Wallflower SetĀ with Honey Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, and cut it with scissors. I added on the tag withĀ Liquid GlassĀ and one of the Sparkles Clear Assortment.

I have this yellow and white baker’s twine I got from Pick Your Plum a while ago in my stash and this color just perfect match with the tag. I wrapped it around the card and then before I tied up the bow, I added the tag. I secured it with 3D foam tapes. Then I added the button and tied up the bow. To secure the bow, I used someĀ very tiny drops of Liquid Glass glueĀ under the twine.

I am inspired by CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, CFC134: Tic Tac Toe. I pick the diagonal, chevron, white, twine. So sad to know that this will be their last challenge. But the good news is that Michelle said that the challenge will be back freshly in 2015.

I found this cute scooter from Silhouette Online Store designed by Lori Whitlock. Cardstocks I used for the scooter are Black (from Basic Combo), Sky (from Whimsy Combo), Lagoon (from Adventure Combo), White Daisy. I cut the shapes with my Silhouette Cameo, all at once. Before I put them together,Ā I stamped the diagonal stripes from In The Background (D1540) with Sky Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2194) on the layer of the scooter. I put them together using the glue pen.

On a White Daisy Card (X254), randomly I stamped the clouds from Lifting Spirits set (C1570) with Sky Exclusive Inks Stamp PadĀ (Z2194).

The banner I picked from one of the banners fromĀ Lifting Spirits set (C1570)Ā and stamped it with Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2105). The sentiment on the banner is from Give A Lift (D1581) which I stamped with Ruby Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2170). I used the Piercing Tool Kit (Z1114) to poke the holes on the back of the scooter and the edge of the banner to tie up the thread. I added everything on the card using 3D Foam Tape (Z1151) for extra dimensional.

This card Ā is on its way to my friend’s house šŸ™‚

This challenge is fun! I hope you all can join us at SOUS Die Cut Challenge: Going Somewhere this week! We have blog candy for the winner of the month. You are welcome to play as many as challenges you want over SOUS Blog every week to get more chances to win šŸ™‚

DIY Embossed Bow Tie Necklace

I was so excited when Rizzi at Thermomorph asked me to do a review about this amazing moldable plastic. ThermomorphĀ is made out of polymorphĀ that you can use in many ways you can think of. You can fix things, make things and even sculpt thing s with it.Ā Yes the sky is the limit!

Today I would love to share with you what I did withĀ Thermomorph. I made few things out of it… just having too much! It is very easy to work with this moldable plastic. First, boil a kettle of water. I used our electric kettle, just quicker and easier.Ā I put the boiled water in a bowl and added a spoonful in it. I watched the plastic beads turning into clear plastic. I forgot to time it but it was not that long.

hmg-thermomorph-01

I used the spoon to get it out of the hot water and put on the table. It will be sticky, so don’t worry. Ā It gets cool quickly. While it was touchable, I started to work with it.

hmg-thermomorph-02

I used my daughter’s play dough plastic roller to flatten theĀ ThermomorphĀ on the CTMH DotĀ embossing folder, as thin as possible. Then I added Bowtiful Die CutĀ from Waffle Flower Crafts and secured it with a tape. Then I run it through my die cut machine, Evolution Advanced couple times.

hmg-thermomorph-03

It didn’t cut all the way, so I used my craft knife to cut the bow tie. Then I colored it using CTMH Cotton Candy Pigment Ink using small round sponge. I let it drying a little bit then I prayed it with Plaid Clear Acrylic coating. And when it completely dried, I added some clear glitter all over the bow. Oh I also poke 2 holes where I wanted to put the claps for the necklace chain, first I used the craft knife carefully and then used the biggest needle I had to poke the holes all the way through.

hmg-thermomorph-04

To finish the necklace, I added the cute button using E6000 glue and then claps for the chain.

hmg-thermomorph-05

And here’s my cute happy model… She has to have that necklace every single day! That smile on her face that makes my day! Both of my daughters are inspirations for me to create every single day! She even said, “Mama, I want to make something with your cool thing.” šŸ˜€

hmg-thermomorph

And some extra pretty things I made. These flowers I used Modpodge molder that I got from Walmart the other day and colored them using Plaid acrylic paints (I stole my daughter’s paint set! LOL!). Once they all completely dried, I added some clear glitter glue to them. I used E6000 glue to add them on the clips, ring base and earring.

hmg-thermomorph-06

When Ā I was done with my project, I still have some left. One of the cool thing fromĀ ThermomorphĀ is that the left over can be used again later. I store it back in the jar, close the lid and they are there until I want to use it again.

hmg-thermomorph-07

I want to thank Rizzi for sending me this product for free. I totally recommend you this for any craft projects, it is great for making embellishments for your scrapbooking and cards, or easy to use with any embossing folders or stencils for your mix-media projects. Like I said before, sky is the limit! You can get this product at Amazon.

Thank you for stopping by today šŸ™‚
