First Day Of School

Today is the day! The day when my Big Girl is going back to school. She is super excited for today, her first day of school as First Grader. For the whole week… literally whole week, she kept saying, “I cannot wait for my first day of school!”

Honestly, my husband and I do not want our daughters to grow so fast, but growing is part of life. They will keep growing physically and spiritually. We cannot stop the process, but we can enjoy and always be thankful for what God has been doing in their lives.

Today, we celebrate their milestone. The Big Girl is going to First Grade and The Little Girl is starting her Toddler or so called Pre-K school at home with me.

We are thankful.

Happy Everything – Watercolor Note Card Set

I love making handmade cards. I always love stamping technique. Also, I like watercoloring the images using watercolor pencils because I can just color them like regular pencil colors, wet it with some water, and done. But I still do not have enough confidence to do more with watercolor paints.

My daughters are my inspirations to step out of my comfort zone about painting. I love seeing them just paint whatever on their papers and pouring out their imaginations on the paper. They just do it. And as always I LOVE their arts!

Watercolor Note Card Set by Helen Gullett | www.helengullett.com

Today I found out that makingn cards with watercoloring with watercolor paint directly on watercolor paper is fun. This is because I am taking classes at Big Picture Classes, one of them is where I learned to make these cards. The class is actually about making gifts for Mother’s Day but I think it is more than just a gift for Moms. They are great gifts for anyone 🙂 What I like with all the classes at BPC is that the teachers will walk you step by step with video and also they are very helpful.

At this class, the teacher showed how to paint the cards and adding some extra on them with stamping and letterpressing technique.

Supplies I used to make these cards are:

  • Happy Everything stamp set (CTMH)
  • Feathers stamp set (CTMH)
  • Finding the Words (CTMH)
  • Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (CTMH)
  • My Acrylix Stamping blocks (CTMH)
  • Heavy weight Watercolor paper (Handmade Modern, Target) or you also can use watercolor cards
  • Pearlescent Watercolor
  • Big and Wide Flat brushes
  • Water.

What I learn this week is that fear won’t get you and me anywhere, but willing to try and taking the first step forward will get us somewhere.

Did you try something new today? Share with me in the comment box, I’d love to know!

Have an amazing weekend!

Father’s Day Gift Idea: Captured Memory Mini Scrapbook Album

Father’s Days is 10 days away. Before we left Ohio for our long trip to Indonesia, I managed to finish a special project for my husband’s gift. He is a very special man of God! We love him so much. I am forever thankful to God for giving Dave as my husband and Papa to our daughters. He is just amazing!

A while ago I shared a sneak peek of the My Crush Book for Him I made for our special Papa. This mini album is just perfect for gift and keepsake. All you need is pictures, embellishments, journaling cards, and stamps. Each page is designed for you to add picture or journaling. And there is lots of possibilites for you to embellish or decorate the pages, too.

And today I’d love to share the every page I embellished, added pictures and journals. Each page tells the sweet story about him since the first day of he became a father, the day our first daughter was born until Easter 2015.

Every day we wake up and live to make memories. Memories to remember. Scrapbooking is a way to keep those memories. And I hope this can give you some ideas for your special one on the Father’s Day! Thank you for visiting today! Have a fun Summer!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day this year is on May 10th. There are many ways you can show your love to moms on this special days. One of the way is handmade gifts.

Today I would love to share some ideas that you can make these gifts and won’t break your bank. These necklaces and bracelets I made using CTMH Base and Bling Wearable Crafts supplies:

This necklace base and Skylark fabric are retired. I love the fabric colors, perfect for spring 🙂 But if you like the statement necklace base like that, you can get the Fabric Necklace kit, the kit includes everything you need to make this gorgeous necklace:

I even have lots of left over of the fabric and some gems. I made earrings out of the left over. Here are the list of supplies to make these projects:

They are simple and easy to make, but these gifts are special because they are made out of love and from your hearts.

So, do you like to make gifts? If yes, what kind of gifts do you like to make for your loved ones?

Can’t Thank You Enough

I am so grateful for a lot of people who have been partnering with us to do the ministry God has called us to do.

One of the ways people partnering with us to bring the Good News to the people in SEA* is they buy things I made for giving back to the ministry. As a thank you for all of them, I made a card that I put on the paper bag.

I stamped the sentiment from Neat and Tangled – All My Heart with VersaMark ink pad and heatembossed it with White Embossing powder.

And I created that watercolor-batik background. First, on the craft sheet, I smudge some Thistle and Gypsy exclusing ink pads, then spray some water, not too much just enough to wet them to mix. Than then add the embossed paper on it, twist a little bit to mix the color and to cover all paper.

And using Craft heater, dry the wet paper and done.

Using a lot of glue runner, I added the watercolored paper on a black mat cardstock and then add them on the white square card.

I finished the card with bunch of sequins I got from Neat and Tangled using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

And this is how I add the card on the paper back. With a paper doily and clothes pin.

Simple and made out of a thankful heart.
