And today I am joining a2z Scrapbooking, one of the Super Sponsor, to share a Anything But Cards project with you with Hero Arts – Coffee Cup Tags stamp and frame cut die set. I made a coffee cup ornament with felt.
In the procces, this involving some hand-stitching 😀 I remember when I was in Junior High learning all kind of hand-stitching styles. I use the blanket-stitch (picture tutorial if you’d like to try) and back-stitch technique.
So, I die cut the felts with the Coffee Cup frame cut die: the cup, lid and sleeve. Then on the sleeve I stamped the sentiment from the Coffee Cup stamp set. I used StazOn ink, then I traced the words with red thread with back-stitch echnique. And then I added the sleeve on one of the cup felt with the blanket-stitch. I stitched all around it.
After that, I stitched the 2 felt cup together with the blanket-stitch starting from the left side of the cup, all the way to the right side of the cup. Leave the top open for the stuffing. After I added some stuffing inside the cup, I stitched the top to close it.
Then I added the lid with Fabric Glue. I added the front first, then the ribbon (ADORNit) for hanger, then the back lid. All with Fabric Glue, but you also can use glue gun if you do not have fabric glue.
I finished the ornament with some stamped and cut out leaves and berries from the same stamp set. I added some red gems in the middle with Liquid Glass glue. Then I added some glitter on the leaves with Spectrum Noir glitter brush.
And my ornament is on the tree now 🙂
I hope you are inspired today to create something anything but cards with your coffee/tea/cocoa stamping supplies 🙂 Also, if you create your project using any Hero Arts products, you can link it up at a2z Scrapbooking December Challenge.
