DIY Home Decor: Pray Brave Prayers

Fall is here and I am a bit behind with decorating our house 🙂 This year, I decided to go with simple and displaying more of our arts, handmade decorations, and pumpkins from local farmer.

On our mantel, I have our family pictures all over for sure 🙂 And we found the G lit up monogram sign at Hobby Lobby last year and 40% off! In the jar, I filled up with mini fake pumpkins and plastic fall colored leaves. And the rest of the decorations are made by my oldest daughter and me. She drew the family portrait. I knew I had to frame it and it is a keepsake for sure.

The other arts are the ones from ADORNit Art Play Coloring Books.  I have been coloring these books with color pencils, watercolor pencils and watercolor paints, too. I picked 2 pictures to out on the frames and mantel. The house picture with verse from the book of Joshua is from Creative Faith – Art Play Coloring Book, and the one with Family quote is from Chamberry Art Play Coloring Book.

ADORNit sent me a box as one of their ADORNit “it” Girl team 🙂 You can watch my unboxing videos on my YouTube: Unboxing ADORNit and Unboxing Documented Faith.

Today, I would like to share with you a new home decor sign that I made:

To make this sign is very easy. I made this sign with the supplies from ADORNit:

  • Documented Faith – Pray Brave Prayers wood sign
  • Art Play Wood – Bracket Shaped Surface (8 inch)
  • Blender Basics Paper Pack.

For the glue I used Mod Podge, wood glue (or glue gun), and you will also need foam brush, pencil and scissors. And I also used the wood plank that I got from Walmart (not in the picture).

First I traced the Bracket Shaped Surface – Art Play Wood on one of the Blender Basics Paper Packs (used the printed red one). Then I cut it out with micro-tip scissors. After cutting the shape out, I applied the Mod Podge with foam brush generously on the wood surface and then I added the paper. And then seal it again with some Mod Podge (make sure no more bubbles!). Let it dry for about half hour before adding extra coat on it. I only added 1 coat and it is great already 🙂

When the extra coat is dried, I added the Pray Brave Prayers on the Bracket Shaped Surface wood with Gorilla Wood Glue, but you also can use hot glue gun. I used wood glue to make sure it stays there strongly since they are made out of wood 🙂

Last step, I added the finished Bracket sign on the square wood palette I got from Walmart that had been sitting in my bin waiting to be used 🙂 I also used wood glue to added the Bracket sign on the square wood palette. And the sign is done. The whole process is only 2 hours total with the drying! You can do it on a weekend or one evening 🙂

I think this sign will sit on the mantel not only Fall, but it is an all-season sign. I hope this inspire you to create home decor for your own home. THANK YOU for visiting me today and have a fabulous blessed day!
