Hello June. Can’t you believe it? We are in the middle of 2016 now! WOW… And Summer has arrived here in Southern Ohio for sure 😀 We cannot keep the girls not to go outside this time of year. They love being outside, just playing whatever.
Today I have an exciting news to share with you. Starting this month, I am designing for Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge Blog. I was their past designer and I took a long break, and now I am back to be one of their design team members. I am so thankful to be part of this challenge blog where we all can share our miracles that God has done for us in our every day life through our projects.
At Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge Blog they have 3 challenges every month: Card Sketch Challenge, Layout Sketch Challenge and Scripture Inspiration Challenge. You can join each challenge by linking up your each project, in a separate blog post link or your online gallery link for each project. Also, you can combine our challenges and/or with other blog challenges. As long as you follow the theme and sketches we provide every month, your entry is eligible to win the prize. So, you can link up your project/s here.
Here is my take on this month’s challenge for Scripture Inspiration Challenge – Hebrew 11:1
We often or maybe always hear people preach on this verse. For me, my faith in Christ Jesus is my every day miracle that God has done and still is doing in my life. Without faith we cannot please our God. Faith is the confidence we have for what we hope for that will actually happen. Faith gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
We have faith in Christ Jesus because of what He had done even we do not see that. It is a past experience that we have hope on what God will be doing in our lives based on what Jesus had done on the that cross. It is the confidence we have based on a past experience that God’s new and fresh surprise and amazing work in our lives will surely be ours.
From the NLT Life Application Study Bible, it says that the beginning point of our faith is believing in God’s character that He is who He says. And the end point is believing in God’s promises that He will do what He says.
We have hope in our faith. We have hope since the beginning we put our faith in Christ Jesus, we live out our faith and until the end of time we still standing still on our faith. All because of believing in who God is and in His promises.
I am using the ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible that they just released early this year. My husband pre-ordered this Journaling Bible last Christmas for my “Late Christmas Present” 😀 This Journaling Bible has a blank page on other page where we have plenty space to do art journaling. On my page, I did a mixed media page based on the verse.
First I added some acrylic paints (Neon Yellow and Neon Green) with old credit card. Mixed them all to cover all the page. Then I used toilet tissue roll to add some of the circles randomly on the page using Violet acrylic paint. Next is using the bubble packaging, I added some of those circles randomly on the page with Brilliant Red acrylic paint, because I dabbed it on top of the Yellow/Green colors, it turned into bright/neon orange. Since they are acrylic paints, they dried pretty fast that I do not have to heat set with my craft heat gun, also I was not in hurry 🙂
When the page dry completely, I stamped the words from Neat and Tangled – Bible Journaling stamp set and Latina Crafter – Be A Blessing Collection (Trust In The Lord stamp set) with CTMH – Black Archival Ink Pad. I wrote my journal in between the stamping. To finish the page, I added some washi tapes from Stephanie Ackerman – Documented Faith collection. I use my favorite india archival ink pens from Sakura Micron pens for journaling.
Recently I took an online Bible Journaling class from Sandy Allnock (you can check this class here). I did not prep my page with any gesso like other people like to do that to prevent leaking. As you can see, on the back of the page, the is no leaking at all. Ghosting or shadow of what I did yes but that will be cover easily with the next project I will do on this page. It is easier and have more freedom to use my supplies what’s on my hands, but, you can prep your page with Clear Gesso to avoid leaking if you use lots of water or do more watercolor painting on it, or use dye inks on your page. Because they will leak through your page if not. All is up to you 🙂 In the classroom Sandy explains all about it.
I hope you inspire to create today and hope to you playing with us this month! Can’t wait to see your projects that showing what God has done/is doing in your life.
Thank you for visiting and God bless you!
