Good morning everyone… Christmas is 131 days from today. That special day is getting closer! And I officially have started my Christmas card project this Summer 🙂 I would love to send out more handmade cards this year.
Today, I have several cards to share with you showcasing the new Christmas stamp collection from Joy Clair.
Stamping with Ugly Sweater Background Stamp is easy using stamping tool like, MISTI. I used my regular size MISTI to create the backgrounds on above and below cards. I stamped them with Cloud White VersaMagic Ink on red and green cardstocks. I heat set the ink with craft heater, then I sprayed them with mixture of Perfect Pearl spray. I dried them with craft heater again, then once they are dry well I distress each edge of the cardstock with distresser tool.
For the tags, I die cut the tags with one of tag die set and stamped the sentiment from Christmas Coffee Clear Stamp Set with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. I arranged the sentiment words on MISTI and stamped the tags multiple time without removing the stamps.
I wrapped some twine around the background panel, and tied up the tag. Then I added the finished background panel on black cards with lots of adhesive. I also secure the tag with some glue dots. I finished each card with the candy cane felt stickers that I found in my Christmas stash 🙂
On this sweater card, I was inspired by some projects I saw on Pinterest 🙂 It is actually super easy to make. First, I arranged the border stamps from the Ugly Sweater Background Stamp on the piece of 4.25″ x 5.5″ white cardstock that I put on MISTI. Then I picked up the MISTI lid, and added the ink one by one. I used the colors from Sorbet Scoops Memento Dew Drop Set of 12.
To create the collar for the sweater, I die cut it with 2 sizes of circle dies. I also die cut the neck shape with the circle die.
I added the sweater background on the card base with adhesive runner, and then I added the collar with On Point Glue, it is a perfect glue for thin and small things. I added some extra dots on the sweater with irRESISTible Pico Embellisher – Bronze.
And here is another take on the sweater. I added felt holly leaves and berries on the collar. I think it turned out cute 🙂 What do you think?
