Joyful Stars Blog Hop: Watercolored & Embossed Easter Card

We have warm and beautiful day today. I think Spring is here 🙂 And can you believe it that Easter is 18 days from today? I am making Easter cards to send out to friends and families this year. Today, I am sharing of one the cards.

Today, I participate at Joyful Stars monthly blog hop. If you arrive from Donna’s blog, then you are on the right path. But if you are first, you can continue to hop to the next blog to make a loop to see all the projects from the participants. Just in case you get lost, you can always find the list of participant at Joyce’s blog.

It is a clean amd simple card that you can easily multiply it. On a piece of Watercolor Paper, I painted the background using CTMH Watercolor Paint using the biggest brush from the Paintbrush set. I put it aside to dry while I was working on the cross.

For the cross, I stamped the image from Rejoice stamp set with Gypsy Mini Pigment Ink Pad, the I added some Ranger™ Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder while the ink still wet, heat set it using Craft Heater. I fussy cut it using Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors.

Make sure the watercolored background is dry well before stamping. I added the background cardstock on the card base using adhesive runner. I stampted the sentiment from the same stamp set with Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. And finished the card with adding the cross on the paper using 3D foam tape.

This card is done and ready to mail out. It is not only clean and simple, but also less bulky and mail-friendly 🙂 You next hop is Yvonne’s blog to see what she has created for you.

I also enter this card at Challenge #221 – Anything Goes Two-Week Challenge.

  1. Beautiful card, Helen! I love the colors you chose and the beautiful watercolored background is perfect for the ornate cross. Thanks for inspiring me today!

  2. Oh Helen – what a beautiful card! I didn’t think I “needed” this stamp set ;), I may have to rethink that. I love how you chose to emboss the beautiful cross – and in the gypsy color. It pairs so nice with the watercolor background – just beautiful! 🙂
