Joy Clair February New Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello everyone… Welcome to Joy Clair February New Release Blog Hop! Today is the day Joy Clair reveal their new clear stamps and Color by Faith stamp sets for Bible Journaling.

The Design Team share their projects with the new release stamp sets and this blog hop starts at Joy Clair blog and they also have fabulous giveaway for you to enter, keep reading for the giveaway info 🙂

I created a mixed media and CAS using the new stamp set, Be Brave – Bible Journaling Stamp and Aztec Background Stamp Set:

Here’s how I created my CAS, Mixed Media card today:

First I created the background with some Color Burst powder on a piece of watercolor paper. I sprinkled the yellow, orange and lime green powder on the paper and spayed with some water. Watching how the colors burst and mix together is super fun 🙂 Then I wiped off the pooled of water with paper towel. Dried it with craft heater. Then using MISTI, I stamped one of the Aztec Background stamp with Archival Black ink.

I dried the archival ink with craft heater. Then I added some of the Gelatos on the panel. Using my finger to  add and blend the colors.

Then I added some of the Metallic Icing Gelato all over the panel with my finger, just to give some extra shine on it. I tried to capture it with my camera, but this is the best I got to show it to you.

My background panel is done. Next is the sentiment.

I stamped the Be Brave on a white cardstock with Archival ink, colored the wreath with Spectrum Aqua marker and cut out into circle. Then I added some Chocolate Gelato all around the circle with my finger 🙂

To put them all together, first I added a paper doily on the panel, then wrapped around the yellow twine ribbon around it and tied up a bow. Then I added the sentiment circle on top of it with 3D foam tape. And I finished the card with some orange gems.

I created a mixed media card using Hero Arts Color Layering Dear, Christmas Clear StampHero Arts Antique Rose Wood Stamp, and Hero Arts Tiny Flags Wood Stamp.

The background I created using Tomboa Dual Brush Pens with smooshing technique using acetate plastic and water to build the shade of red background. I dried it well with craft heater and then I heat-embossed the tiny flags with WOW! Bonding powder and DecoFoil Gold transfer sheet.

I stamped the flower with Versafine onyx black on a white cardstock and using craft knife, I cut out some of the petals. I added some 3D foam adhesive on the cut out petals and GlueDots on the other petals so when I added it on the card some of the petals will pop up to create a 3D look flower.

I finished the card with some clear gems in the middle of the flower and added the sentiment paper strip with 3D foam tape on it.

Life Is Short. Drink Good Coffee.

Hello everyone! I have been wanting to use my newest addition to my coffee stamps and dies stash… And today I have a CAS, Mixed Media coffee card that I would like to share with you 🙂

I use my new coffee stamp set and die, Anywhere There’s Coffee Stamps & Die Set that I got back in December. For the coffee cup, firts I cut out the cup with white cardstock and then stamped the cup and sentiment with black archival ink. The clear stamp makes it easier to stamp on a die cut becuase we can see through it. For the sentiment,  I use the CUTplorations – Coffee Word Die that I cut out the kraft cardstock 3 times and stacked them together to create a coffee sentiment chipboard.

The background I created with mixed medium. First, I added some Vintage Photo distress ink on Tim Holtz – On The Go Cup and sprayed it with some water, then I added a piece of watercolor paper, and run it through my die cutting machine to emboss it. Then I added some thin layers of homemade white gesso on it.

I added some of the green and yellow Caribbean Color Bursts on it, and then sprayed it with Perfect Pearl mixture. That gives the pearly and sparkly look on the background. Using my craft heater, I dried that background and once it dried, I added some of the Vintage Photo distress ink all around the edges.

I added a cream cardstock on a black card base as a mat, then I added the watercolored, embossed panel on it. Using 3D foam tape, I added the cup and the sentiment chipboard.

Today’s card is a CASE card. I CASE Kathy’s Card, one of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers DT 🙂 Here’s her card:

CAS, Mixed Media Card: All My Love

Hello everyone… LOVE is in the air.. can you feel it now? Valentine’s day is getting closer… Today I am sharing another mixed media Valentine’s Day card with you all 🙂

On this card today I am using the Our Daily Bread January New Release stamp set and die sets and my new coloring medium – Color Burst set.

I have been having fun with the Caribbean set to create my background on this card. I sprinkle the warm color pallete on a piece of watercolor paper, and sprayed with some water. It is so much fun to see how the pigment powder react with the water. Then I added some splatter of Gold Paint from Finetec Gold Palette set and Black paint from Koi Watercolors Travel set.

When the background panel dried well, I die cut the center of the panel with the new ODBD Custom Tulip Heart Die, and die cut the panel again with the ODBD Custom Double Stitch Rectangle Dies, and then inlaid them back in. I added them on the card with strong adhesive.

I die cut the purple heart out of one of the ODBD Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad using ODBD Custom Layering Heart Dies. And I stamped the sentiment from the new ODBD February Pre-Order Bundle, Let Love Grow stamp set. I added the purple heart die cut on top of the Tulip Heart die cut.

I die cut the flowers and leaves using the ODBD Custom Bitty Blossom Dies out of Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad and Boho Bolds Paper Pad. I added them on the heart with glue dots.

I finished my CAS Mixed Media card with some clear gems. And using my finger I added some of the Seedless Preserve Distress Crayon on the edges of the card.

I hope you are inspired to create more Valentine’s Day cards to share the love! Thanks for visiting me today!

Mixed Media Card: Hoping To Bring A Smile

Hello everyone… It is in the middle of the January already! Time flies so fast, do not forget to stop and enjoy the moment. It is very easy for us to get trapped in the busyness every day.

And today, I would like to share a mixed media card with you 🙂

I am inspired by the Theme and Sketch from STAMPlorations January Challenge:

First, I created the background using the Peony Number One – ARTplorations Stencil with the Color Burst Caribbean set and Perfect Pearl spray mix. I totally enjoy the fun time playing with these color powder and pearl spray mix. You can see that pearly shine on the card 🙂 I also did some splatters on the panel and dabbed it off with paper towel for extra texture on it.

Once the panel dried really well, I put back the Peony stencil and trace it using Faber-Castel PITT Pen.

Then I stamped randomly the bubble wrap and text from the Mixed Media Grunge stamp set on the panel with Ranger Archival Ink pad. I set aside the panel for the ink to dry while I was working on the card and sentiment.

I stamped the sentiment from Smile – Dee’s Artsy Impressions stamp set on a piece of white cardstock with the archival ink, cut it out and added some shading with the Faber-Castell grey brush pen.

I added the 1/4″ Scor-Pal tape on the side of the black card base and added some Thermo-Web Gold Foil on it to create the gold strip.

I added some White Gelatos on around the edge of the panel to give extra shading, too. Then I added it on the card with lots of adhesive 🙂 I added the sentiment panel on the card with 3D foam adhesive and finished my mixed media card with some pearl gems.
