The Lord Reigns, Let’s Rejoice!

Today I’d like to share another style clean and simple Easter card. The same techniques I used to make my card on yesterday post: watercoloring, stamping and embossing.

These 3 techniques give extra “wow” to a CAS and One-Layer card. On my card, I created a ombre watercolored background and added it on the card base with a contras color of pattern paper. I air-dried my watercolored background cardstock while working on the embossed cross, but you also can speed dry a watercolor background with Craft Heater.

For the cross, I stamped and embossed it with Silver Embossing powder and fussy cut it. The cross and sentiment are from Rejoice Stamp Set.

I added the cross on the card with thin 3D foam tape for less bulky. This kind of card is a quick and easy to mass-produce it.

I enter this card at these challenges:

It is a clean amd simple card that you can easily multiply it. On a piece of Watercolor Paper, I painted the background using CTMH Watercolor Paint using the biggest brush from the Paintbrush set. I put it aside to dry while I was working on the cross.

For the cross, I stamped the image from Rejoice stamp set with Gypsy Mini Pigment Ink Pad, the I added some Ranger™ Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder while the ink still wet, heat set it using Craft Heater. I fussy cut it using Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors.

Make sure the watercolored background is dry well before stamping. I added the background cardstock on the card base using adhesive runner. I stampted the sentiment from the same stamp set with Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. And finished the card with adding the cross on the paper using 3D foam tape.

This card is done and ready to mail out. It is not only clean and simple, but also less bulky and mail-friendly 🙂 You next hop is Yvonne’s blog to see what she has created for you.

I also enter this card at Challenge #221 – Anything Goes Two-Week Challenge.

CTMH Watercolor Blog Hop

We have been having mix of rain and snow in the last several days and I saw some of Easter flowers a.k.a. Daffodils at our backyard. I cannot wait to enjoy their flowers and Spring is getting closer 🙂

Today I am joining a group of Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects and featuring Watercolor Paints and Watercolor Pencils. This is a technique that I have been learning to do and LOVING IT! There are so many video tutorials on YouTube where I learn new tricks 🙂

New Close To My Heart Blog Hop featuring watercolor pencils and paints - 30 projects to inspire you to create! http://wp.me/p1DmW0-2eT #ctmh #watercoloring #handmadecard #cardmaking #notecard #papercrafting #diy

This month, we have 30 consultants participate in this blog hop. So, you should arrive from Jeannie’s blog. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s blog.

I am sharing these 2 clean-and-simple cactus cards 🙂 I love this new stamp set, Stuck On You. I cut 3 3/4″ square from Watercolor Paper. First I stamped the images using Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pads: Saddle (pots), Fern (cactus), and Hollyhock (flowers).

For the pots, I did second generation stamping and then added some shadow using the similar brown watercolor pencil. For the cactus and flowers, I stamped them and lightly colored them using the similar watercolor pencils. And then, I wet all of colored images using smaller size of the Paintbrush Set to give the watercolor look on them.

I added some shadow around the pots to give them some extra dimension and also they look like sitting on the ground instead of floating. I simply scribble lightly around the pots using the Ligth Grey watercolor pensil amd wet it using the small brush and water.

They dried quicker than I thought 🙂 Once they dry completely, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Fern Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. If do not like to wait few minutes, you can always use the Craft Heater to speed the drying in seconds 😉

Final step is I add them on the 4.25″ square card base that I created from white cardstock. Then I added some border line using Marvy® Uchida® LePen™ Journaling Pen.

My cards are done. These cards are mail-friendly because they are flat. Your next hop is Michelle Battitori’s blog to see what she has created to share this month.

THANK YOU for stopping by today and hope you find an inspiration here today. Have a fabulous day 🙂
