4 Years Ago Today

4 years ago today is the day when I declared my vow before God, church, family and friends.

4 years ago today is the day when I exchanged my vow with the man, chosen by God for me, to live and share the life together, in good and bad, healthy and sick, and till death separate us.

4 years ago today is the day when I said, “I do” to Dave.

4 years ago today is the day when Dave and I started our journey together as husband and wife, we are united as one before God, and together we serve the LORD.

Today I pray that :

  • God is always be the head of our marriage and family

  • God will be glorified in and through our marriage
  • God will us to encourage and bless others.
  • we will be encouragement to each other

  • we show love and grace to each other

Today I pray for Dave that:

  • God will bless him and anoint him as the head of the family

  • he will love me deeply
  • he will be patient and show grace for our children
  • God will bless his physically, emotional, and mental health
  • God will make him prosper at work so he will be blessing to others
  • God will give him the power to resist sexual temptation
  • God will keep him safe and away from the evil

Today I pray that:

  • I will show my husband respect, grace and kindness
  • God will help me to be the wife He wants me to be for Dave
  • God will help me to be the mom He wants me to be for our children
  • God will give me wisdom to make wise choices

I Have A Confession

Today, I realized that I have not done any scrapbook layouts, or crafts, or anything that I think I like to do in my free time. Why? That’s because I have set a “kind of very” high expectation of myself lately. That including how I would like to make 1 layout a day, but I couldn’t keep it up with all things that had happened lately.

I have missed about a week, that means I didn’t do any scrapbook layouts in this last week. I am not particularly saying that “I have to” but, you know, it is just some kind a lesson for me not to have a high expectation when I am not so sure if I could do it or not.

I learned and still am learning.

There are some things that more important that my hobbies. I have to have a list of things that primary and important to my life, rather then just “go with it” life style anymore.

My very top of the list is serving the LORD, my God, seek Him each moment through praying and reading the Bible, than serving my family as wife and a mom. And then house works and ministry to others at church and online (I have some translation works online for mission agencies). And now we are members of Wycliffe, that added commitment of serving God and others, building partnership team and getting ready to go as missionaries overseas. These are the main things that I put as my priorities.

And then followed by hobby when I need that free time to put myself back together, a time when I do things that relaxing me. There might be something will put my hobby down to the list, but it’s here where it is now.

Hopefully, I can make more that just one layout a week, but for now I stick to one layout a week.

To live is to learn to change to be better…Never stop learning, that’s for sure.

(hopefully that makes sense to you in English! :D)

Pray For Indonesia

Indonesia with population 237,642,000, located in South East Asia. Indonesia is the largest Muslim population in the world, which about 80% of the population (resource: Operation World).

The capital city called Jakarta, where most of the people from other cities will come and find jobs.

Official language is Indonesian, which is used for trading and in formal settings. People learn Indonesian when they go to the school. Those who cannot go to school, they cannot speak Indonesian. Some Indonesians are multi-language people. They will speak their first language, called mother-tongue, they very first language they will learn at home to communicate with their immediate family and community where they live. And then IF they go to school, then they will learn Indonesian and English, as the third language.

There are 704 living language groups in Indonesia. Out of these 740 language groups, the Bible is in 33 language groups, New Testaments are in 70 language groups and some Scripture portions are in 71 language groups. That makes over 400 language groups DO NOT YET HAVE the Scripture! (resource: Wycliffe Global Alliance).

So, what can we do for these people of Indonesian to have the Scriptures in the language they can understand best?

  • We can PRAY (go here to join the prayer team for Bibleless People Groups and go here for how to pray for projects in Indonesia).
  • We can GET INVOLVED with the existed projects, go on short mission trips, and join mission organizations, such as Wycliffe Bible Translations and those who do Bible Translations in Indonesia, go here.
  • We can GIVE financially to be team partners to reach out the unreached people groups in Indonesia through the work of Bible Translations (for partnering with us to go to Indonesia, please go here).

We can because God empower us with His Holy Spirit, it is not done by our own power, or skills, or abilities, or whatever we could do. It is done only by the power of God and in His ways. So that only God who will get the glory and worship from the people. God is the one and only reason for all what we are called to do to reach out the unreached people group in Indonesia (see the list of the UPGs in Indonesia here).

We as the church of God, the body of Christ –You and I – can end the Bible Poverty in Indonesia and the world! God has called us to go and make disciples to the world, to teach them what He has taught us (in the language that we understand best) so that they will come and believe in Christ, and baptize them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. At the end, we all will see that every people, every tongue and ever nation will come and worship God, the Almighty, and they and us will stand before the throne of the Lamb of God and cry, “Holy, Holy, Holy, to the Lamb of God.” Isn’t that amazing and beautiful?

What is your part in bringing the Good News to the people who do not have yet a single Scriptures in the language they understand best in their heart?

The Road To Transformation

Translation teams exercise great care in the rigorous and complicated process to translate God’s Word into a language that doesn’t yet have it. Watch an overview of the tasks involved, and learn how each project presents unique challenges and incredible rewards.
