Proverbs 3:5-6

Today’s bible memory verse that I read from the book of Proverbs chapter 3, verses 5 and 6.

“Trust in the Lord with all you heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths.”

The meditation taken from New Living Bible:
When the Bible says we aren’t to trust ourselves or our own understanding, it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t use our mind to think things through. God has given us the ability to reason, and he expects us to use that ability. The problem comes when we get an inflated view of ourselves because of our ability to solve problems. Sometimes, in fact, we may try plans A through Z until finally, in desperation, we ask God for help. Trusting in God completely means that we go to Him first, asking for His insight and guidance. Then He will want us to use our brain and devise our plans, but He will be in control.

5 Prinsip Dasar

Lima Prinsip Dasar pengetahuan tentang Allah yang dimiliki orang Kristen adalah:

1. Allah telah berbicara kepada manusia, dan Alkitab adalah firman-Nya, yang diberikan kepada kita untuk membuat kita bijak dan menuntun kita menuju keselamatan.

2. Allah itu Tuhan dan Raja atas dunia yang Ia ciptakan. Ia memerintah atas segala sesuatu untuk kemuliaan-Nya sendiri dengan menyatakan kesempurnaan-Nya dalam segala sesuatu yang Ia kerjakan, agar manusia dan malaikat menyembah dan memuja Dia.

3. Allah itu Juru Selamat, aktif dalam kasih-Nya yang berdaulat melalui Tuhan Yesus Kristus untuk menyelamatkan orang percaya dari rasa bersalah dan kuasa dosa, untuk mengangkat merekamenjadi anak-anak-Nya, dan untuk memberkati mereka.

4. Allah adalah Tritunggal; dalam ke-Allah-an ada tiga Pribadi: Bapa, Anak, dan Roh Kudus. Karya keselamatan merupakan tindakan ketiga Pribadi itu secara bersama-sama. Bapa merencanakan penebusan, Anak melakukannya, Roh Kudus menerapkannya.

5. Kesalehan berarti menggapi pernyataan Allah dengan kepercayaan dan ketaatan, iman dan penyembahan, doa dan pujian. Penyerahan diri dan pelayanan. Kehidupan harus dilihat dan dijalani dalam terang firman Allah. Inilah agama yang benar, dan bukan yang lain.

Check Your Motivation

But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Matthew 6:3-4, NLT

It’s easier to do what’s right when we gain recognition and praise. To be sure our motives are not selfish, we should do our good deeds quietly or in secret, with no thought of reward. Jesus says we should check our motives in three areas: generosity (Matt 6:4), prayer (Matt 6:6), and fasting (Matt 6:18). Those acts should not be self-centered, but God-centered, done not to make us look good but to make God look good. The reward God promises is not material, and it is never given to those who seek it.

Doing something only for ourselves is not a loving sacrifice. With your next good deed, ask, “Would I still do this if no one would ever know I did it?”

Masa-masa pembentukan (Maz 139)

Tidak terasa sudah 8 bulan (34 minggu) usia kehamilan saya. Selama masa kehamilan ini, saya banyak mengalami hal-hal baru secara emosional, rohani dan jasmani.

Perubahan yang terjadi dalam hidup saya ini semua ada tujuannya. Contohnya, perubahan bentuk tubuh yang tadinya kurus, sekarang cukup berisi karena tubuh saya harus cukup kuat untuk membawa bayi di dalam kandungan saya. Selain itu, perenggangan tulang pinggul (dan memberi dampak sampai ke tulang punggung juga) pun terjadi untuk memberi ruang kepada bayi saya untuk berkembang dengan baik dan mempersiapkan tubuh saya untuk melahirkannya nanti. Selain perubahan fisik, emosi saya juga sering berubah dan bahkan mempengaruhi pola pikir saya. Perubahan emosi ini sangat membuat saya bingung dan takut, kadang-kadang saya pikir saya sudah “gila” dan kehilangan akal sehat saya. Emosi yang tidak stabil mempengaruhi cara berpikir. Terkadang saya lupa dengan apa yang harus saya lakukan, termasuk di mana saya meletakkan sesuatu barang. Emosi saya cukup sensitif saat-saat ini.

Something New Each Day

 

God is so AWESOME! I went with my cell group coordinator to one of our cell group meetings in the afternoon. It was only couple blocks from my house.

At that meeting, there were 2 ladies who were Buddhists. They came to the meeting because the lady of the house invited them. The younger lady told us that she wanted to know who Jesus was, what Jesus could do, and she asked for healing prayer.

My cell leader was leading the cell group tonight. She started with an illustration how God cleansed our sins through Jesus who has died on the cross.

Then I led them into worship and praising God by singing a song and then prayed for the real discussion of the Word of GOD. We discussed about Faith from James 2:14-26. After heard the explanation, we divided the big group into a small groups.
