Mixed Media Card: Joy Love Peace Christmas Tree

Hello everyone… I hope your Holiday’s preparation is going well so far 🙂 This week I am finishing all my Christmas card project and get them ready to send out.

Today, I am sharing a mixed medai card that is inspired by some Christmas tree mixed media canvases that I saw at Pinterest 🙂

Mixed Media Card - Joy, Love, Peace Tree

My card sizes is 6″ x 4.5″ and I used Canson Watercolor paper for card base. First, I created the background with Spectrum Aqua Markers and water using smooshing technique and drying in between smooshing to created the extra texture on it.

Then I stamped the splatters, bubbles and border from HLS – Fun Mixed Media stamp set with Memeto Luxe Tuxedo Black ink pad. I added some white gesso with flat medium brush on the background and dried it with craft heater.

I cut out paper strips out of the Christmas theme scrap papers I had to form the tree. I added them on the card with gel medium and when it dried, I added some shadow with Faber Castell Big Brush Pen and smoosh it with my finger.

Next is I stamped and cut out the words from STAMPlorations – Peace Love Joy stamp set and then I added them on the card with gel medium. Then I double-heat embossing the snowflake, cut it out, and added on top of the tree with 3d foam tape.

To Pray Is To Let Go And Let God

Praying is a way to have communication with our LORD. The LORD himself taught us how to pray and how we should pray (Matthew 6:5-18). When I searched the word PRAY on my Bible App, I got a long list of word “PRAY” and “ALWAYS” go together. We are reminded to pray all the time, always.

We as brothers and sisters in Christ are also need to pray for each other (James 5:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:25, 1 Thessalonians 3:1, Colossians 1:3) When we pray and have faith, we will receive it (Matthew 21:22). And instead of being worry, we pray about everything, tell God what we need, and thank Him for all He has done (Philippians 4:6).

I thank God for this amazing gift He has give to us. I thank God for a gift of praying to God, a gift of praying for each other, a gift of praying for our needs, and a gift of praying for the world.

odbd-weeklyinspirations-helengullett

I made a card today with prayer theme. The sentiment reminds us that to pray is to tell everything what we need to GOD, to let it go and let God take over our life and do what He has planned to do in our lives. It is not as easy as we can read the sentiment, but it require FAITH to continue to walk to trust in Him. I pray that we all will have the faith when we pray.

On my card today, I use the Our Daily Bread Designs December New Release stamps and dies: Handle With Prayer stamp set, Praying Hand Die and Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies. For the frame and shaker window, I use Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. I use the ODBD – Beautiful Boho Collection paper pad.

I also use the Peace Stamp & Cuts set for a quick sentiments on the other cards. I simply cut them out with white cardstock and dabbed the red ink all over them to give some rustic look.

Joy Clair December Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello everyone… Welcome to Joy Clair December Blog Hop! Every month they have a blog hop to share inspirations with you all. So, let’s get hopping with us!

You should arrive from my fellow team mate, Lori. She shares a fun project there too. So, today, I am sharing not only 1 but 4 cards with the new Coffee Lovers stamp set.

Joy Clair Coffee Lovers

I go with kraft and CAS style on all for of them. I created the backgrounds with stamping, did some watercoloring on the cup and mug images, and I created some marble banners with Tombow Dual Brush pens and plactic acetate.

On the first card, I added some gold thread behind the cup, and cut out a stamped heart for the cup sleeve. I stamped the sentiment on the watercolored banner. I colored the cup with Spectrum Noir Colorista set 4 pencil colors.

On the second card, the embellishments are cut out hearts. I stamped on white card stock, fussy cut them and added some glitter with Spectrum Noir glitter brush. I also added some glitter on the coffee cup.

On the third card, I simply added the heart on the cup as embellishment. I keep it pure CAS 🙂

And on the fourth card, I drew a circle then stamped the cups and coffee beans inside it with Vintage Photo distress ink pad to create the background. Then cut out a banner with white cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and added on the card with 3D foam tape and then finished it with some brown gems.

Mixed Media Christmas Card – Luke 2:11

Hello again everyone… I have several posts today about new releases and couple challenges. You can scroll down to check on them 🙂 THANK YOU!

And now I would love to share with you a simple mixed media Christmas Card. One of the great Bible verses about Christmas and the birth of the Savior is from Luke 2:11

The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! (NLT)

This verse speaks who He is: the Savior and the Lord. He has been born for all of us, to all human kind in this world! He has been born to redeem, to save and to provide the way for us to the eternal life with Him. Isn’t that the most joyful and hopeful news ever?

Mixed Media Christmas Card - Luke 2:11

I found this stamp from Stampendous at Hobby Lobby a couple years ago and love to use it on my Christmas cards. For this time, I made a mixed media card.

First, I stamped the sentiment on a Canson watercolor paper with Versamark ink pad, added some White Embossing powder, and then heat it up with Craft heater.

I created the galaxy background with Gansai Tambi watercolor paints. I added some splatters with the white paint from the same set. Using Elmer’s Painters fine point white marker, I drew some stars on it. And then I added more dots with the marker.

I added a strip of Snowhaven patterned paper (CTMH, retired) on the side of the card base, and then added the finished mixed media panel on it with Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

It is flat and mail-friendly card 🙂 and ready to be sent away this month. I hope you’ll like this card and inspired to create holiday cards to share the joy of the season with your family and friends.

THANK YOU for visiting me today and have a fabulous blessed day.
