Bible Translator Is Not Just A Job

“Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people” (Ephesians 6:7, NLT).

Language and translation workers in Senegal, Africa, are longing to serve the Church and see people come to faith in Jesus Christ. In a statement that certainly echoes the sentiments of missions workers throughout the world, a staff member working in Senegal wrote:

“We are so aware of the temptation to be merely ‘doing the job’ rather than serving the Kingdom of God. Pray for strong relationships among the people with whom we are working. We want to guard against this becoming just another job. Ask the Lord to keep us fresh for His use.”

Yes, it is not just a job, not just a life routine of someone. It’s a calling, a desire, a passion that God put in each heart of who He has called to this job. I know it’s easy for us to get trap in our every day routine because we do it every day with our own strength and power. But it won’t be if we do it for God, ask for God’s hand over us and ask for God’s Holy Spirit to empower us to do our job every day. That’s the important things. As we pray for the Senegal translation team, we also need to pray this pray for ALL BIBLE TRANSLATORS and MISSIONARIES in the whole world.

Would you join me to pray for them today?

Please visit Wycliffe Pray Today blog and subscribe for their prayer news update and we can support them in prayers every day. More than just prayer, you also can get involve directly in the work of Bible Translator by supporting this ministry financially and even join their team. Also please visit Wycliffe website, follow their Twitter, and Facebook Page for more information to get involve with the ministry of Bible Translation, bringing the Word of God to every people, in every language in the world.

May God be glorify and until the whole world heard of the Good News!

Rest In Peace, My Friend

October 2007, Pelatihan Penerapan Linguistik dan Budaya (Applied Linguistics and Culture Training I)

Couple of days ago, I got very very sad news from Indonesia. My dear friend and fellow missionary, Rudy Suseno passed away few minutes later after he had a motorcycle accident in Salatiga, at 6 pm local time, on January 5, 2012.

He was commissioned to an UPG in Java island a day before (Jan 4, 2012). I just cannot imagine the situation and the grief of the family and friends because of this. Rudi was known as a wonderful friend, husband, father, hard-work man, and loving. We had been friends since we first met at Kartidaya Introductory Workshop in 2006, and  then together with other friends we continued the training to the Basic Linguistics Application Training at the same organization in 2007. Then I got married and moved to States with my husband, but still we all still communicating through emails and Facebook. Never lost contact, but not anymore. We cannot contact him, write him message, or even see him in person. He rested in peace now.

The Last Five Minute Friday 2011

This is it. We are at the end of the year. Where are those days gone by? I don’t know exactly the answer to that question, but I am sure each one of us have our own answer to it.

Today, it will be the last post of the Five Minute Friday in 2011. I know it’s been a while I didn’t write but today, I would like to share some things in 5 minutes. Yes, only in 5 minutes. No editing.

If you are new to this one, you can visit Lisa-Jo’s website, the Gypsy Mama, and link your post there. Here’s a little bit from it:

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.

3. Most important: visit, comment, encourage the person before you.

Are you ready? Just in 5 minutes, you can share what is in your heart and mind….

Here’s the word of the day:

O P E N

Ready… Set…. Go!

Open. Being open is not my thing. It’s not what I wanna do in my life.

Being open is hard for me. But one day in 2002, God really changed me.

He opened my eyes to see, opened my ears to hear, and opened my heart to his.

Though, still being open is hard for me. Being open to God is different.

Hard, but POSSIBLE. The only question is:

“DO I WANT TO BE OPEN TO GOD?”

I did. I tried. And I still do it until now.

Being open to God is amazing! Nothing that I can hide from him, because he search each heart.

He search my heart, my mind and my soul. He knows and sees every single thing in my life.

He wants me to respond him, his calling.

Yes, being open to God is about to answer his calling, to respond to his voice in my life and yours.

So be open and you will see how wonderful his power of love touching you life and change your life.

STOP.

A Way Better Gift

World Vision child sponsorship establishes stability for the present and hope for the future, providing benefits not just to a single child, but to an entire family and community.

When children have access to basics like nutritious food, clean water, healthcare, education, safe shelter, and extra support during emergencies, they’re able to grow up to become healthy, productive adults who realize their God-given potential and can become advocates for their communities.

Sponsor a child today and help make this Christmas a memorable one for a boy or girl in need — or, if you’re already a sponsor, consider extending your love and support to another child.

You can also make a one-time gift to our Sponsorship Ministry Fund, which helps meet the needs of children who are still waiting for sponsors and helps World Vision respond to emergencies that occur in sponsorship communities.
