Love Like Jesus

When I wrote 1 John 3:16-17 today in 3 languages I speak, I am thinking and praying for those 209 million people speak about 1,967 languages, who do not have one single verse in the languages they understand best (source: Wycliffe Global Alliance). There are about 400 languages spoken by at least 190 million people in the country we will be going in South East Asia.
Today we can end the Bible poverty by praying and get involved with the Bible Translation movement around the world by partnering with Wycliffe Bible Translators, The Seed Company and their sister organizations. You can join us in #WritetheWord movement every Wednesday hosting by The Seed Company to raise the awarness of the need of Bible Translations for the Bibleless People Groups in the world.
How?
  • Write God’s word on your journal,or maybe the verses from your daily Bible Study
  • Take a picture of it
  • Post and share your picture on Instagram, or Pinterest, or Facebook, or Twitter, pretty much on every social media you might have.
  • Add hashtag #WritetheWord and #EndBiblePoverty, when you tweet it and while you are there follow @theseedcompany, also follow them on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
  • Go to The Seed Company Blog and add your Instagram picture link there.

Easy!

10 Ways To Love

​​I found this notes posted on our church bulletin few months ago and I thought I’d love to share these practical ways that we all  can do to show love to others so that they may know God’s love.

10 Ways To Love

  1. Listen without interrupting (Proverbs 18)
  2. Speak without accusing (James 1:18)
  3. Give without sparing (Proverbs 21:26)
  4. Pray without ceasing (Colossians 1:9)
  5. Answer without arguing (Proverbs 17:1)
  6. Share without pretending (Ephesians 4:!5)
  7. Enjoy without complaint (Philippians 2:14)
  8. Trust without wavering (1 Corinthians 13:7)
  9. Forgive without punishing (Colossians 3:13)
  10. Promise without forgetting (Proverbs 13:12)

In the New Testament I found 14 verses that quote Jesus’ command for all of us to love one another for He has loved us first. ​They are:

  • John 15:12 (ESV)“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
  • 1 John 3:11 (ESV)For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
  • John 13:34 (ESV)A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
  • John 15:17 (ESV)These things I command you, so that you will love one another. The Hatred of the World
  • Romans 12:10 (ESV)Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
  • 1 John 4:11 (ESV)Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:9 (ESV)Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another,
  • 1 Peter 1:22 (ESV)Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
  • 1 Peter 4:8 (ESV)Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
  • 1 John 3:10 (ESV)By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. Love One Another
  • 1 John 3:23 (ESV)And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
  • 1 John 4:7 (ESV)Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
  • 1 John 4:12 (ESV)No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
  • 2 John 1:5 (ESV)And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.

Your Vital Role

Jesus Brings Freedom ButtonPray is the fuel for any ministries and our lives. Pray is what we’re saying that we need God and it is only can be done by God and His’ power. Pray is the only way to reach His throne and receive His grace in time we need help. Pray is where we stand in the gap for those who are in needs of God and His love.

Through pray we come to God and plead for our loved ones. But also…

We are called to pray for others who have not heard nor known about Jesus Christ. We pray is to reach out the over 209 million people in this world to come to know God, for God to open doors for them to have His word in the languages (over 1,900 languages!) that they can understand best in their hearts, for God to touch them and change their hearts, for God to lead them in the way of truth and life.

You have a vital role in God’s mission in this world. You can pray today.

Teaching Kids About Bible Translation

Wycliffe Bible Translations provides 7 ideas how we can teach our children about Bible Translations and the needs around the world. You also can read the original post here.

1.      Pray for a Bibleless people group together.

No matter their age, your children can take part in Bible translation by praying for a people group without Scripture in their language. Through our FREE Bibleless Peoples Prayer Project, you and your family will receive e-mails to encourage you as you pray, a printable how-to-pray bookmark, and information about your people group as it becomes available.

2.      Make a treat with a recipe from a Wycliffe missionary.

The Wycliffe Cookbook can be a great tool to support Bible translation while teaching your kids about life in the mission field—and making great memories in the kitchen together! Our cookbook has delicious recipes and fun anecdotes submitted by missionaries.  4.      Explore the world of Bible translation together at the Wycliffe Discovery Center.

Field trip! At the Wycliffe Discovery Center, kids can travel the world and dive into the life of a Bible translator without ever leaving the country. They’ll experience people and cultures they’ve never seen before through interactive games and activities. There’s also a chance to hear exciting stories from a real missionary about doing God’s work around the world.

5.      Teach lessons that will benefit them for a lifetime.

7.      Introduce them to The Story of Jesus for Children.

Next time your family is in the mood for a movie night, we suggest The Story of Jesus for Children. Created by The JESUS Film Project, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, this video is the retelling of the true story of Jesus through a child’s eyes. It includes some footage from the original “JESUS”film—which is translated into languages all over the world and shared with people who may never have heard the Gospel before—making it a great way to introduce kids to one of the many kinds of media used in Bible translation.

Bringing God’s Word to The Vidunda People

A year ago Lara Williams and Katie Orr launched Savoring Living Water and soon after set a goal to fund 104 verse for the Vidunda people, through OneVerse.
They are about 16 verses away ($410) from their goal, and they are praying they can meet it all in one day, TODAY!
Here are the details:
We all have the Bible in our hands in various English versions and even on our smart phones. We have access to the Word of the Living God at any time we can and anywhere we go. Please pray for the Vidunda people, who are waiting for the Word of God available in their heart language. And you can be part of God’s amazing plan, to bring the Word of God to these people. They have waited too long!
