I heat-embossed the leaves with Gold and then color them using the new color ink pads from Close To My Heart: Saffron and Pemogranate. Starting with the Pemogranate at the bottom and them the Saffron from the top of the leaves, you can see when they mix in the middle it turns into a beautiful orange. I fussy cut them and added them on the card using glue dots. Glue dots give extra dimension but not too thick like 3D foam tape, also they quick and stronger than using adhesive runner on that woodgrain embossed background.

Fallen Leaves

Leaves start falling on the ground, their colors start changing and the air is cooling down. I love it here. Four seasons give different experience to me especially I came from the country only has 2 seasons: summer and rainy season.

We have a big tree behind our house and this tree’s leaves cover the ground when they fall.

I love the new stamp set, Fallen Leaves. They are beautiful leaves’ images and perfect for this season. I made a watercolor card set:

Watercolor Card with Watercolor Pencils and Dye Ink [Tutorial]

Today I would like to share a tutorial how to make this watercolor card using watercolor pencils and stamping.

Oh Hey

I made a short video of pictures how to create the watercolor circles that you also can use the same technique to make balloons or any image that you draw with watercolor pencils and add some water to give the watercolor effect.

When the watercolor image is completely dry, you can stamp your sentiment. For this card, I wanted the sentiment also looks watercolor-y 🙂 It’s very easy to do. First, you cover your image or sentiment with ink and then spray with some water. The amount of water on the inked image or sentiment will give you the watercolor effect when you stamp it on the cardstock or watercolor paper.

Oh Hey

I hope you will give it a try and share with me your project 🙂 If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comment box.

THANK YOU for stopping by today and have a fabulous day!

Merciful God

God is merciful. That is the truth.

It is also human nature and how easy we can see in the Bible how they went back to their old life style even though God had driven out them of their old land to live in the land God had promised to them. I see this happens to us too. To me.

How easy I can feel discourage and disappointed when what I got from others was not what I expected from them. Or when I was stressful I easily yelled at my daughters who made mistakes instead of telling them gracefully.

I went back to my “old habit” even I fought so hard to not to be like that.

I fell off the wagon.

But God is strong enpugh to pick me up because He is merciful. It is because God is God, loving God, God of grace.

This is why I need Him every single second, moment in my life to live to be a child, to be a wife, to be a mom and to be a friend to others.

This is why though now I live in the new life in Jesus Christ, but my flesh is week. I need His power and desire to do what pleases My Heavenly Father’s heart every day.

This is why He never stop showing us His mercy and grace repeatedly. Oh what a wonderful God!

God bless your weekend friends!

Joyful Birthday Banner Card

I got my Fuse Tool and Card kit from We R Memory Keepers early this week. This kit is now only sold by HSN. SUPER EXCITED to try this fuse tool after hearing some review from my crafty friends 🙂

And today I had a chance to make this cute birthday card to celebrate one of my favorite stamp & die companys. Neat and Tangled is celebrating their 3rd Birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Neat and Tangled! Wish you the best all year long!

I am inspired by one of the Card Examples come with the kit:

Fuse Card Kit Examples | Joyful Birthday Banner Card | http://helengullett.com/?p=7361 #CTMH #WRMKFuse #WRMK #neatandtangled #HSN #creatingjoyfully #DIY #cardmaking #handmadecard

Using the fuse tool I made this card in less than 5 minutes and with no kids around because the fuse tool is very HOT. Background and banners are fusable papers. This fusable papers are smooth and have to be very careful when want to fuse them together, they could be very slippery. Simply add the banner on the background paper and fuse them one by one, overlapping them little bit.

Then I added some crystal clear sequins from Neat and Tangled using Glue Dots Mini. I got them from as a little gift from them when I ordered stamps and dies 🙂 Their sequins have beautiful colors and thick, check them out and you’ll love them, too.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from Joyful Birthday stamp set (LOVE this set from CTMH!) using Desert Sand Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on a piece White Daisy cardstock, then using Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors I cut the dove tail. I used 3D Foam tape to add the banner sentiment on the card.

In my opinion, for making this fusable papers into cards, they are not strong enough and too slippery and smooth to write on. There are couple tricks. First, if you still want to make the card using this fusable paper, you can add a piece of white cardstock inside the card for writing space and make it stronger. Second trick which is what I do for my cards, that I use White Card as the base. After decorating the fuse paper with embellishments, I add it on the front card using glue runner. I almost covered the whole card with glue to make sure they glued together.

And my card is done 🙂 Hopefully you’ll like it as much as I like making it! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
